Except conservatives who believe that CEOs are morally superior to you precisely because they have higher incomes. The fact that these incomes are siphoned from yours is just the icing on the cake.

If CEOs are paid too much, one would expect the Gordon Gekko types to swoop in, replace the board, and adjust the compensation package.

If investors are unhappy about executive pay, they will invest in a company with more sensible policy, forcing the board to lower pay.

If none of these is happening, I don't know what this fuzz is all about.

That said, the whole corporate personhood meme is taking off. I think we'll see a Constitutional Amendment within my lifetime.

I know, this is why I am very skeptical of any public CEO who does not even own 10% of the company.

Favoritism belongs to non-profit organizations. It has no place in real companies.

If you want more accountability, what about having executive compensation paid directly out of the stock at certain dates? It is like going ex-dividend, except that no dividends will be paid. Shareholders will surely notice.

CEOs get paid far less than many holders of IPO options.

I don't blame the CEOs I blame the employees, the 401K contributors, and people who patronize their companies.
