Killing innocent people is good practice for killing the guilty.

This is why it's despicable when people say that law-biding citizens have nothing to fear from the police.

Good luck with justice? All shady incidents are investigated by the police departments themselves or by anyone of the town's attorneys already on retainer to defend their police.

Pretty much every police shooting is justified. This elderly man probably stole a candy bar when he was a little kid or something, so that shooting's justified too.

It's not like he was a businessman who had been vetted to perform work at government institutions, recently had a car stolen and felt threatened when a yard full of ununiformed men swarmed and entered his house unannounced. It's not like he pulled a gun, which was legal to own, and didn't even shoot it. And it's not like after an exhausting search law enforcement found absolutely nothing.

oops. scratch that last paragraph.

He owned a gun, that makes him evil in the eyes of this current administration. He needed to die.

I guess that I read the story wrong - I wasn't aware that Obama was at the door.

I'm not sure that you realize that blaming everything on Obama waters down whatever pertinent argument you might have.

Are you aware that shit like this has occurred for years - long before the "current administration" took effect?

I guess you've been still sleeping under a rock and missed all the effort by the liberal, anti-gun crew to establish additional firearm bans in the country the last two years...

Only a conservative would be so fucking stupid as to blame police violence and militarization on liberals. Inbreeding, it affects the brain.

We noticed that with the majority of your posts....

Ah, the comeback equivalent of I know you are, but what am I used often by ten-year-olds who cannot think of anything creative.

Actually in this case, I think the public would be served by application of Liberal laws, specifically the 4th Ammendment of the US Constitution. Judges and politicians have whittled the interpretation down to mean the cops can invade any part of your life, property, or asshole in pursuit of criminal activity based on nothing more than suspicion. And in doing so, they've not only violated the Ammendment, they've gang raped it and shot it in the head.

A car thief turns himself in with a stolen car, bringing a bag (how much?) of narcotics (meth), and points the finger at the car owner with respect to the narcotics.

If the car thief was a credible witness there would be no need for police to execute a no-knock (meaning door-busting) warrant at 11pm to secure other evidence. And if the car thief was NOT credible, there also would be no probable cause for the warrant in the first place.

In general, the value of human life is higher than the value of possible incriminating evidence.

Police willfully engaging in unnecessary action that risks and causes loss of life must STOP.

We have not heard any comments from law enforcement, so stop jumping to conclusions. In the meantime the police officers get the benefit of the doubt.
If you don't like it you can suck it up.

When unknown people invade a home in the night, bad things happen.

We'll have to see which version plays out. One thing to note, if you take out a firearm and show aggression towards a LEO, usually bad things happen after that.

Both versions may have some truth. It was an unfortunate incident.

I do think too much money has been spent on the war on drugs. They should focus on legalization and taxation. More revenue for the state.

Yet, you consider this "creative"..

Actually it was reasonably clever. Sorry it's over your head.

Was the dead guy a black suspect, or a white victim?

15   Vicente   2014 Oct 8, 7:18am

Where are these guys?

Oh right, they prefer marching on Obama. The Battle of Athens is not something they could conceive of, because it's only imaginary FEDERALES they want to pretend they could fight, as opposed to actually doing something.

Wait a minute: the cops phoned the White House before proceeding with the raid?

If the dead guy turns out to be black, you'll be in the uncomfortable position of agreeing with Obama. Are you prepared for that to happen?

The Sheriff's version:

"The sheriff’s office claims Hooks was shot after he got out a firearm and started showing aggression."

I knew it. I rest my case.

Heres another one that was on CNN yesterday.

"The Hammond police were at all times acting in the interest of officer safety and in accordance with Indiana law."

Never forget that. Your safety is not even in the picture.

21   justme   2014 Oct 8, 7:47am

Public safety is number one. Justice is also number one. Officer safety is number three.

If you want to be a big hero in uniform, do not forget what your priorities should be. Otherwise the job is NOT for you.
