Once [rent] is over 30%, thats when you start getting into the danger zone financially, says Helen Stephens, a certified financial planner in Dallas. And the problem when youre renting is that you may be in a lease for a year, and at the end of that year your landlord has the right to raise the rent on you.

This is how NYC ended up with Rent control apartments.

Rent only declined because landlords all over America feared the same result.

You all know I don't agree with the reverse racism crap that arises in places like Ferguson, MO. However, I have friends who have proven to me how irritating it is to be pulled over by the cops every single week just because you're a Mexican American driving a candy apple red 370Z.

This topic gives me an idea. What if we started profiling and hastling rich people in the same way? We certainly know all of the sweetheart deals they get and the crimes they buy their way out of.

Police pestering them just because they look rich.

"Out of the car Dr. Fancy-Ass! Hand over your license, registration, proof of IQ, a liter of blue blood, a DNA swab, and seven years back tax forms for each of your corporations, please."

"Well, this all seems in order, just watch your ass boy. I can tell from the smell of those leather seats that your farts stink the same as everyone elses. See you tomorrow. And yeah, I know life isn't fair. Deal with it."

Well tell Raymundo to stop paying Coyotes to smuggle in his relatives, and there wouldn't be an immigration problem that he gets confused with.

I was saving this for the another thread, but it bears repeating...

National debt is not necessarily a bad thing especially when other countries are in worse shape.

thunderlips, a lot of the 2008/9 statistics were driven by the stock market crash (i.e., decrease in capital tax revenues) and bank bailout. President Obama has had record tax revenues from stock market gains, yet we have not seen an appreciable drop of debt as a % of GDP since he took office.
