Welp I better smuggle my BIL back in from Peru.

That guy loved doing everything I'm too lazy to do.
Paint the house, mow the lawn ect...

He's a damn fine American too, better than most. I bet he owns more objects with Old Glory's likeness than anyone else I know.

Yep. Patriotism is measured by how much shit you buy with a flag on it.

You should arrange for tutoring in English when he gets here. He could probably help you out a lot.

Buying shit with a flag on it is one thing. But genuinely respecting the flag is something all together. He'd want to kick someone's ass for abusing a flag before I would. The guy respects and admires everyone in Uniform he came across as well. He's old school patriotic that died along with the Greatest generation. You'd really have to know him to understand what I mean. It is quite humbling, to know that he self deported under Obama after 18 years in this country contributing to the economy by being gainfully employed and circulating money in the economy. To not being able to get a drivers license and went from being in demand by every employer he came across, to anyone who would give him a job could be prosecuted as a criminal.

He self deported because he respected the law, that said he was illegal.
He didn't want to just scrap by on the unofficial illegal alien welfare system.

He loved providing for himself too much for that.

Yep, especially after something like 9/11 when everyone had to put flag decals on their cars to prove their patriotism

Translation: liberals hate our troops and don't respect them. Because respecting our troops is proof that one is not a liberal.

Apparently this is why some liberals were opposed to Iraq '03, because they didn't respect our troops enough to send them to die in the desert for no reason beyond conservative lies.

As a liberal, I can't even begin to describe how much I hate our troops. At airports, I spit on them so much that my physician had to treat me for chronic dry mouth; he finally told me to carry a canteen so I can keep hydrated while spitting and pissing on our service members.

He's old school patriotic that died along with the Greatest generation.

A tiny sliver of the "Graiush Gunuraishan" actually saw combat. They were privileged to enter adulthood at the beginning of the greatest continual economic expansion in history. Many - not all - of them interpreted this as proof of their own hard work and all-around greatness.

Tom Brokaw wrote a nice book, and I heard it sold well, but that generation has the same ratio of good people and deadbeats as every other. If they were slightly more focused and diligent than the rest of us, it is probably due to being the last age cohort, before 1975, to make it to age 20 without breathing massive quantities of leaded gasoline fumes.
