Why?

In Hollywood, the villain always loses.

But in real life; Villains like me always succeed and never pay for their crimes.

I still haven't had my head torn off as APOCALYPSEFUCK promised.

Not everybody believes that unlimited wealth, sex, power and the ability to wield and exercise every trivial whim with cruel Caligulan excess is success.

But it will do, sometimes you just have to settle.

Did Kenneth Lay, Bernie Madoff, Charles Ponzi succeed?

What are you doing that is evil?

Are you forcing people to give you something? Or are they willing exchanging with you because it is in their own best interest?

IOW the opposite of what the government does...

Actually, for once you are correct. However, I think you missed that I was joking when I wrote that.

A god could be amoral, evil, or apathetic to human plights. And the lack of a god doesn't require society to be set up to reward selfishness and parasitic behavior.

Not true. God just is, IOW he has no potential towards anything, he is completely actualized.

You're looking at an unrepresentative sample. If your survey sample consists of CEOs on TV, then you get a skewed picture. Look inside a prison and, among the many who claim to be innocent, you'll find some who are in fact guilty and villains who failed. Much of life depends on luck, and villainy does not guarantee success.

I don't see how you call the original assertion "not true" when "much" is not even a percentage, i.e. the two (unsourced but usually undisputed) assertions are not even mutually exclusive.

This is a typical fallacy for indigenous. Someone makes a statement X that is either factually correct or is an opinion and therefore neither correct nor incorrect. However, statement X is contrary to indigenous's cultural preferences. Therefore, indigenous considers statement X to be a falsehood regardless of whether or not it is or even can be.

Reality, to fools like indigenous, is a function of culture, not objective, material fact. Perception makes reality. If indigenous believes that the world is 6,000 years old then it is regardless of what radioactive dating and other evidence says.

I think that White Wolf used this same principle in their Consensus plot device. It makes for good fiction, but not good policy.

You fucking bet they did!

What Bernie Madoff stole is a pittance compared to the real criminals on Wall Street.

$60 billion dollars? That's nothing for J.P. Morgan. They've been fined upwards of $15 billion dollars for fraud.

Did they executives in J.P. Morgan go to jail? Fuck no!

The small criminals are always taken away by the bigger criminals.

Besides, Bernie Madoff is not as bad as the mainstream media portrays him. He stole from a bunch of rich and greedy fucks.

Bernie Madoff didn't rob Main street, he robbed Wall Street. And when you rob Wall Street, you will be fucked!

Look inside a prison

Speaking of prisons; they are privately run corporations run on behalf of the government under contract.

Guess who owns the prisons? Private wealthy individuals.

The more people you have in prison, the more wealthier the wealthy owners of the prisons will become.

So the Private wealthy interests try to make everything illegal so they can jam in as many slaves into their cash machine.

The privately owned prisons are explicitly clear about being "For Profit".

25   curious2   2014 Dec 10, 5:59am

Robber Baron Elite Scum says

Guess who owns the prisons?

You can look at that question through several different frames, and each supports a somewhat different view. You presented one frame, and it supports the view that you presented. Another would be to present a generational contrast, as pension funds and 401(k) plans invest in the prison-industrial complex and depend on mostly younger people to work for them and compete with prison labor for lower wages. Another would be to say that political patronage networks own the prisons, and they empower "their own" in-group while oppressing out-groups (whether defined by color or choice of drug or whatever). Decades ago, Tom Wolfe wrote a book called In Our Time in which he predicted drug legalization based on the fact that local potentates were getting tired of bailing out their offspring; he was half-right: prosecutions became more selective. Technically, most prisons are public property, but "public" property tends to favor some over others (even the Concorde and now high speed rail favor the high-speed traveling class over poorer taxpayers who ride the bus). The prison-industrial complex tends to favor Republicans, by preventing many citizens from voting for Democrats, but even most Democrats favor the drug war for example.

It makes for good fiction, but not good policy.

Respectfully, I think some opinions are demonstrably incorrect, and I have lamented in recent years that outright falsehoods have taken over both major parties, resulting in bad policy. Republicans lie to cut taxes while Democrats lie to increase spending, and while both sets of lies are presented as "opinions" they result in an empire of debt.

You peasants didn't save them. by lending them money.

They borrowed money from a Private Central Bank called The Federal Reserve which Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan, HSBC and CitiGroup have stock ownership in.

They reason why the bailouts were allowed to happen is because the place the bailouts were going to come from and go towards are all under the same private ownership.

Therefore, it is all legalized fraud and crony capitalism.

In the day, I dated a Beverly Hills rich bitch for a while. She bragged to me that she and her cousin were caught dealing a kilo of cocaine. With parent's lawyer money, she and her cousin were given a year's probation then "white sheeted" i.e. all trace of a court and arrest record was expunged.

She said the next case after hers, same prosecutor, same judge, same courtroom was a Mexican guy caught with an ounce who got five years.

She seemed to be proud of that.

30   Dan8267   2014 Dec 10, 6:26am

Nomenclature. A statement that is incorrect is, by definition, not an opinion.

For example, "whether or not lowering taxes increases GDP" is not an opinion. Whether or not "smoking causes cancer" is not an opinion. A doctor's diagnosis isn't an opinion. It may be an educated guess, but it's not an opinion.

Even "I like strawberry ice cream" is not an opinion. It's a factual statement and is either correct or not, and can be proven by, say, observing neurons firing in the brain while I eat strawberry ice cream.

In contrast, the statement "strawberry ice cream tastes better than chocolate ice cream" is an opinion and cannot be correct or incorrect even in principle. It is a value judgement.

Some value judgements are morally repugnant like "masturbation is far worse than rape" (Thomas Aquinas), but you either agree with or disagree with the value judgement. By definition, value judgements are not statements of truth but statements of opinions.

Even if 100% of the population shared an opinion, it would still be an opinion. For example, "chocolate ice cream tastes better than human feces" is still an opinion.

That all said, I would agree that opinions founded on nonsense like "homosexuality is not natural" or "it goes against God's will" or "climate change is a hoax" are ones that should not be respected, nor should those persons holding such unfounded opinions.

Not really. The "cronies" have unlimited ammunition and are very heavily armored and armed including reserved space in underground bunkers.

The "cronies" control the military and provide all the funding for it's profitable wars.

So any SHTF or cannibal anarchy scenario which APOCALYPSEFUCK (that little worthless degenerate maggot) always boasts about will quite simply NEVER come to fruition.

I will never have my face torn off and I will never be in handcuffs!

I will never pay for my crimes!

The world is run by psychopaths and the rules favor psychopaths. The more psychopathic you are, the more you will succeed in a psychopathic world.

From Psychology Today:

Psychopathy is among the most difficult disorders to spot. The psychopath can appear normal, even charming. Underneath, they lack conscience and empathy, making them manipulative, volatile and often (but by no means always) criminal. They are an object of popular fascination and clinical anguish: psychopathy is largely impervious to treatment.

From: http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/what-psychopaths-teach-us-about-how-to-succeed/

Traits that are common among psychopathic serial killers—a grandiose sense of self-worth, persuasiveness, superficial charm, ruthlessness, lack of remorse and the manipulation of others—are also shared by politicians and world leaders. Individuals, in other words, running not from the police. But for office. Such a profile allows those who present with these traits to do what they like when they like, completely unfazed by the social, moral or legal consequences of their actions.

First of all, what the fuck are you doing that is a criminal act?

Second of all, everything is created by a decision. If you decide it is ok to be a sociopath, don't be surprised if you get sociopath-ed... This is the very substance of Hades. The oldest lesson in the book, how can you consider yourself educated and not know this?

Mob movies make me laugh they spend their whole lives wanting to get revenge, without it ever occurring to them that there is no such thing as revenge. I have had the good fortune to deal with one for about 12 years, this is absolutely the very substance of Hades.

BTW this has nothing to do with religion.

Stiletto's, being one of Sydney's top places, was out of budget for me. I'd recommend this place, just one suburb north, for a more reasonable price.

Realize, I'm not truly rich, like a professional athlete, just on an upward slope in recent years. I still need to budget my adventures.
