Yet many people are seemingly taking the impossible route. This will prove to be a major source of unhappiness.

Listen to music. Visit a spa. Go shopping.

Then reflect on yourself. The world is full of opportunities is you start appreciating the reality for whatever it is.

How do people find time to look for a job?

When they stop believing the job market is crappy.

Stop believing the market is crappy or pretend it isn't tough choices.

Our mind is very good at creating narratives. Subconsciously, we act out such narratives. If we think jobs are scarce, we unwittingly do things to reinforce this belief through willful blindness or even self-sabotage.

I used to be merely boring and beneath notice.

Now that I have improved myself, I am obnoxious, pedantic and superciliously snotty.

Nominated for the most pithy and on-point rebuttal of any thread so far! Cheers!

But not so good at aligning those narratives with facts on the ground.

Facts do not exist without language.

That sounds like the Horseshit other blogs and forums were spouting off back in 2001-2002 when I was sounding the alarm about RE affordability.

"Well it's affordable where I am, you just need a change of scenery!"

Less than two years latter those same folks were leading the chorus in the "Whoa's me" reprieve.

Only if pork is involved.

Why so impatient? ;-)

Pork, as in the purely porcine.

Yeah, but don't you want to start with a fish course?

And thanks for illustrating our wonderful world of language.

especially in America's versions of Italian cuisine

True. It's really hard to find good Italian restaurants in the US.

In SF, La Ciccia is not bad.

Will try Baia Chia next time in Roma. Must avoid the tourist season though.

The job market hasn't been this good since 1982!

At least if you have your own car.

If we either legalized or decriminalize prostitution across America, then I'd be a very happy person.

Decriminalize, we'd all be happy

Legalized, and we'd all probably go broke
