Now why would Snowden want to return to such a horrible country like the US, a country that spies on people?
I bet his comrades spied on his ass every second he was there. :) :)
No matter how fair his trial, he isn't likely to get a better deal than he has currently. He's free... Well, free-ish.

It's shocking when someone would rather live in prison in the US, then live free in Russia.
Must be a horrible country to live in.
There is no way Snowden would get a fair trial. The people for the jury will not be chosen at random; they will be especially selected to return guilty on most charges, all of which will be trumped up. If Obama had any ethics, he'd pardon Snowden of all crimes. Snowden did more for America than Nixon ever did, and without Snowden's revelations, the crimes committed by the government would have only gotten worse.
And that's what the prosecution is all about, silencing whistleblowers. If any of the prosecutors had ethics, they would prosecute the criminals revealed by Snowden.
How many senior officers went to Courts Martial, or Civilian Contractors to regular Court, for Abu Gharib?
Remember Pat Tillman? "Don't make him a hero, because it looks like friendly fire." McChrystal (yes, that McChrystal) to Abazaid - who concurred.
McChrystal covered everything up very nicely. Got rewarded, just like Powell did for not finding anything during the original My Lai investigation.
By the way, we've only seen some of the pictures. The rest the Obama, like the Bush, Administration is keeping secret - and they're supposed to be a lot worse.

He exposed State secrets to terrorists. That makes him a terrorist supporter. He belongs in Gitmo.
Hey SBH, I just found someone to waterboard. Wait a minute.....that isn't even torture :(
he wants to get back before a repub takes the presidency.
it's the difference between freedom and leavenworth...

By that definition, the entire Republican Party is a terrorist supporter. They outed Valery Plame and risked terrorists getting nuclear weapons.
Quite frankly, we're all a lot safer that Snowden has exposed the crimes of the government. Yes, the government still commits those crimes and no one has been prosecuted, but at least the world knows the extent of those crimes.

Every country spies on it's people. They have to, to prevent crime and terrorism.
How is preventing crime, a crime?
How is preventing crime, a crime?
Let's say Bob kills everyone in the world. He's prevented any more crime from ever happening. However, his actions themselves are criminal.

This is so weird I'm gonna have to think about it.

Don't get discouraged. The first time is always the hardest.

The former National Security Agency contractor's Russian lawyer said he's ready to leave the country that offered him political asylum in 2013 and return to the United States as long as he gets a fair trial.
