Coming from the Deep Fried South, nothing surprising here:

Hawaii is a little surprising. I've never lived there, but when I visited, I thought the locals seemed a little on the heavy side.

True, no surprise there. However, I was surprised how quickly the epidemic happened. Back in 1990, the map is all green and blue. I was also surprised that today it's worse than it's ever been. I thought recent awareness and changes in diets had at least stop the rise of obesity, but clearly that's wrong. 2014, the last year in the data set, is the worst year ever and the trend over the past 25 years has been consistently and steadily upwards.

Also, the south has been deep frying everything for a long time, but the obesity epidemic was non-existent in 1990 according to this map. Looks like it's more than fried food.

I wonder if it's a generational thing with Gen X and the Millennials becoming adults.

Generation Phat

Maybe not. In U.S., Obesity Up in Nearly All Age Groups Since 2008

Americans in nearly every age group today are more likely to be obese than those same age groups were four years ago. Obesity is up the most among older adults.

Obese people clearly die younger as shown in the above map. (Assuming old people don't get in better shape once they hit their 70s.)

Disgraceful.
The liberal states seem to be less obese. The conservative states more obese. I wonder why.
I now support a "fat tax" Americans are too stupid to make good decisions on their own.

Interesting, Colorado rates 51 in states, which is the best.... Hmmmm...

I thought Obama said we had 57 states.....

Kenyans must have been counted 6 times.

No, no, no it's common core math at it's finest.
