Shouldn't you Trump supporters hate the Philippines? They have a strong culture of immigration/migration and world trade?
Obama bumped them from the schedule to go meet with South Korea. Good move in my mind. Philippines is a lot of tough talk about leaving the UN right now. They have a nativist authoritarian in power. Grrrrrreat. See how you do little island nation with weakening alliances in the 21st century.
Once enough of us separate ties toward the nativist route, we will again feel like we don't have much to lose, and the memory of war is so far from most people's mind (5% serve) that we will willfully seek stupid conflict. WWI started for an amazing reason : nations wanted to fight, and they thought they would be fighting a 19th century style war.

The Chinese are now saying that Obama's crew didn't request a staircase for their Jet, so none was provided.
You got to love no matter where you go, there's always that one stickler employee who refuses to do anything if it's not by the book regardless who you are.
"No hell no, he didn't request steps. Do you know the hell I'll catch if I request a step ladder that didn't have the proper paperwork? I'm not putting my ass on the line for that American I dont' care who he is."
Then I'm sure he slapped a subordinate on the head who promply postrated before him.

Filipinos are ok. I have both a brother and a sister in law who are Filipino. They never try to blow anyone up or enforce sharia law, and they are Christian. So they are good, and generally hard working contributing folks.
US President Barack Obama has cancelled a meeting with controversial Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, who had earlier called him a "son of a whore".
Mr Duterte was responding to the US president's promise to raise the issue of drug-related extra-judicial killings in the Philippines at their meeting.
The Philippine leader, known for his colourful language, has insulted prominent figures before, but this time it has had diplomatic consequences.
He has now said he regrets the remark.
"While the immediate cause was my strong comments to certain press questions that elicited concern and distress, we also regret that it came across as a personal attack on the US president," a statement by his office said.
