The Washington Post has a fake news problem. Fake news is not only competition for the Washington Post, but its own affliction. The Washington Post seem to have difficulty refraining from publishing fake news while criticizing others for publishing it.

The Washington Post’s labeling of competing alternative media outlets as “fake news” since the 2016 Presidential election are becoming increasingly ironic. For example...

Remember, the first step of recovery is admitting you have a problem. They aren't there yet.

I think they do it intentionally

If you cannot defend your own fake news. attack the other party of spreading the fake news.

and therein lies the issue- partisanship has replaced journalism
the WAPO and NYTimes are shills for the left as much as the Daily Caller and Breitbart are for the right

and that's something TimmyBoy will never admit..

So sad... he must drink a whole ton of the kool-aid.

Nor will the WAPo or NYTIMES or CNN- they continue to pretend they are objective

The real problem is when WaPo(and NYT and LA Slimes) run opinion articles disguised as news. This stuff belongs in Time, Newsweek, and other similar publications OR on the Opinion Page. Not on the front page of a supposed MSM newspaper.

This is an absolutely fine example by a Mister "Alcindor".

So, the rightwingers attitude. Attack Attack Attack, Lie Lie Lie. If you cannot defend your own fake news. attack the other party of spreading the fake news.

Clean up your own house too, son.

The NYTimes mentioned last year it was their duty to stop trump and The CNN reporter acted like a protestor not a reporter at trump's press conference

Seems the WAPO would just like to forget all about fake news!

As for the reason I look at various sources such as Infowars, Breitbart and the like I do a quick headline scan every day to get prepared for what's coming on the forum or to catch up on what I probably missed if I'm pressed for time and not able to get here to see it with my own eyes.

I have a short list of left and right wing sites to scan every day but lately it's the right wing sites that keep showing up in the posts/comments.

That's all...

Have a nice afternoon - I gotta take the pup to the groomer..later

Seems like the WAPO would like to forget all about fake news

Actually it's pretty clever on his part as well since if things don't go according to plan, Trumpligula can claim he wasn't correctly quoted etc. over and over and over louder and louder until it's believable and further discredit WaPo more than they have done to themselves.

The WAPO, NY TIMES CNN FB opened this can of worms- if they had just stuck to reporting the news they could have held readership and the journalistic higher ground. the contrast would have been clear.
Instead they went on an offensive, and it blew up on them because they publish a fair amount of fake news themselves

This is what's true. By taking sides and determining that the fate of a so called democracy is within their perview, not only did these main stream organizations undermine their own reputation, they also undermined democracy itself.

And by being compared to Infowars...well what does it say that a supposed msm fishwrap is compared on the same playing field as a lunatic like Alex Jones?

They had to sell to someone with deep pockets who would support continued losses other wise they would have gone out of business with their current propaganda approach

The issue is that govt grants the broadcast licenses so the media outlets are less likely to criticize

President Trump invited the Pope for lunch on his mega yacht, the Pope accepted and during

lunch, a puff of wind blew the Pontiff's hat off, right into the water.

It floated off about 50 feet, then the wind died down and it just floated in place.

The crew and the secret service were scrambling to launch a boat to go get it, when Trump waved them off, saying "Never mind, boys,

I'll get it."

The Donald climbed over the side of the yacht, walked on the water tothe hat, picked it up, walked back on the water, climbed onto the yacht, and handed the Pope his hat.

The crew was speechless. The security team and the Pope's entourage were speechless.

No one knew what to say, not even the Pope.

But that afternoon, NBC, CBS, ABC, MSNBC, CNN all knew how to cover the story. Their banner headlines read,

"TRUMP CAN'T SWIM!"
