Trump's first-year jobs numbers were very, very good.
On Friday morning, the government’s Bureau of Labor Statistics released employment numbers for December, bookending President Trump’s first year in office. While the number of jobs added was lower than many analysts expected — up 148,000 — it was a continuation of the trend of growth seen over the course of 2017.
With those numbers in hand, we can now compare Trump’s first year in office to his predecessors’. And in that comparison, Trump comes out looking pretty good.
But we’re comparing first years here, and on that metric Trump consistently outperforms Obama.
Trump will certainly be pleased by two other first-year comparisons. Between January and December of last year, the country added 184,000 manufacturing jobs, the third-most of the presidents for whom data is available after Carter and John Kennedy.

The Labor Department's Bureau of Labor Statistics says a record 155,965,000 people were employed in July, the 11th record-breaker since President Trump took office 19 months ago.
"Our economy is soaring. Our jobs are booming. Factories are pouring back into our country, they coming from all over the world. We are defending our workers," President Trump told a campaign rally in Pennsylvania on Thursday.
BLS said the economy added 157,000 jobs in July (compared with a revised 248,000 in June).
The unemployment rate edged down to 3.9 percent, as the number of employed people reached new heights, and the number of unemployed persons declined by 284,000 to 6,280,000 in July.
Among the major worker groups, the unemployment rates for adult men (3.4 percent) and Whites (3.4 percent) declined in July.
The unemployment rate for Hispanics hit a record low of 4.5 percent, down from last month's record 4.6 percent.

The whole "Boomers are leaving the workforce" is a crap argument because:
1. We've had a massive influx of immigrants over the past 20 years
2. The Millenials are as large a population as the boomers and cancels it out.
3. The total population of the US is higher, and so is the number of working age individuals.
