A Wisconsin company is about to become the first in the U.S. to offer microchip implants to its employees.

Yes, you read that right. Microchip implants.

"It's the next thing that's inevitably going to happen, and we want to be a part of it," Three Square Market Chief Executive Officer Todd Westby said.

The company designs software for break room markets that are commonly found in office complexes.

Title is misleading and click bait.

A Wisconsin technology company is offering its employees microchip implants that can be used to scan into the building and purchase food at work. Whether or not to get a chip is up to the employee to decide.

It's a stupid idea anyway. The only upside is not losing the chip. The downsides are numerous including intrusiveness. It adds zero security since you could still be forced to use the chip at gunpoint. Furthermore, any decently secured system would handle a card or other something-you-have authentication being lost or stolen. This problem has already been solved.

As for whether microchip implants will go mainstream in the U.S., only time will tell.

I have no doubts it will go mainstream in the US one day. Any skepticism will soon be replaced by acceptance with changing values and beliefs.

Better to replace using inject-able microchips with an electronic tattoo in the shape of "666." Have it managed by a company called "Beast Worldwide."
