called bathroom bill. The bill, passedby the Texas Senate earlier this month and now awaiting Abbotts signature, requires transgender people to use public restrooms corresponding with the gender they were assigned at birth. The law would apply to bathrooms in public schools, public universities and government buildings.Such discriminatory policy, the business leaders wrote, is simply bad for business. As members of Houstons business community, we write to express our concern with the proposed bathroom bill being considered in this special legislative session. We support diversity and inclusion, and we believe that any such bill risks harming Texas reputation and impacting the states...

I think transgenders should only use the mens restroom. Men won't care as much.

This bathroom issue has wasted too much time already. We need a federal laws banning all mulit-user bathrooms. Every bathroom is a single occupant bathroom and gender and gender identity don't matter. The costs of continuing this stupid, stupid debate and not addressing real issues is absurd. If pee pees are so damn important, then businesses can spend the money to convert their multi-user bathrooms into single-user ones. It will stimulate the contracting industry. Hell, we can divert military spending to pay for it since it's so fucking important to the right.

Single occupant bathrooms has always been the solution to googles 58 flavors of orientation.
The problem is who is going to pay the billions of dollars for the conversions.
Step 1 is to stop the leak (NPI) and only build single user bathrooms from here on out.
Let the multi user rooms age themselves into non-existence.

Actually, it is so fucking important to the left.

Single-user bathrooms in public buildings in California will soon become "gender neutral" so anyone can use any restroom, a result of legislation signed Thursday by Gov. Jerry Brown.
Assemblyman Phil Ting (D-San Francisco) said his bill moves California in the opposite direction of some states that restricted the ability of transgender people to choose which bathrooms to use.
“California is charting a new course for equality,” Ting said in a statement. “Restricting access to single-user restrooms by gender defies common sense and disproportionately burdens the LGBT community, women, and parents or caretakers of dependents of the opposite gender.”

Actually, it's Liberals that have the problem...
For someone who promotes himself as the purveyor of facts, you sure don't post like it...

The tone of his State of the State, observers say, reinforced his stature as a true-blue liberal and established his place at the helm of what is looking like a blue state rebellion. At the same time, Brown’s reputation for pragmatism – an attribute that helped him pull California from the brink of bankruptcy in 2010 – gives him room to defy party orthodoxy in the name of getting things done.

“He’s positioned himself as the unchallenged leader of the state’s Democratic majority, but also the unpredictable person who doesn’t always follow the party line and reaches across the aisle to Republicans,” Professor Sonenshein says. “His role seems both to fight the new administration, and to be aware of the dynamics swirling around California and Washington.”

Please do not read huffpo, they are not different from Fox news - no truth, no intellectual analysis, just posturing and echo-chamber of think-a-likes.

The bathroom bill in TX will likely die its own death, as it is stuck in TX House, where pro-business House Speaker Straus (R-San Antonio) will not bring it up for vote.

Standstills on the "bathroom bill," property tax reform and more could be on the way. There's still a question mark over whether House leadership will bring the "bathroom bill" — controversial legislation regulating which restrooms transgender Texans can use — before the full chamber for a vote, but the House author of the bill said Monday he didn't plan on accepting tweaks from conservative colleagues if the measure landed on the floor. The Senate voted out its preferred version of the proposal last week, but neither chamber appears to have shifted its stance from May — Patrick champions it; Straus has made clear he opposes it.

One liberal taking the position that transgender women should use the female bathroom is not a consensus among liberals. I'm a liberal and I don't believe that. I believe in single-user bathrooms, period.

In any case most of the bitching about bathrooms is done by the conservative right. The rest is done by the conservative left.
