Reagan caused more long term damage to the middle class than any other in the last 50 years. I will never understand why anyone holds him in such high regards, he was a RINO through and through.

Reagan was not a RINO by the standards of the era. At the time libertarian ultra rich were at best a minor fringe of the republican party, not in total control of every aspect of the republican party like today. By the standards of 1980 Reagan was very conservative pushing a very conservative agenda. By today's standards he is a middle line democrat. There is no way to compare the republican party of 1980 with the republican party of 2017.
