He failed to explain how the neighboring states manage to have much better roads without all the draconian taxes and fees.

I understand the question in the linked article, but it ignores the true issue which is:

Gas tax in -

Arizona $0.18
Nevada $0.33
California $0.58

For those truly interested in what that means...California charges a tax nearly double that of Nevada and a WHOPPING 300% plus more than what Arizona charges.

This is unbelievable and shows how amazingly brain dead California voters are. In real terms I pay nearly $400 more a year in tax on gas(sales plus gas tax) than an Arizonian who drives the same amount based on 20 gallons per week.

And as pointed out, the interstate and local roads in both Arizona and Nevada are better by far than California roads.

I suppose this is what the lefties will say is a right wing echo chamber, but what I've posted here is factual truth and leads only to the conclusion that gas taxes in California are too high(and so are the ones in Nevada).

We get shafted every time. Just watch....they will run the numbers again and conclude there aren't any funds for good roads. Tax tax tax.
I just received a bill from the State of California for $130+ including penalties for something I have never seen before. Something to do with fire control. I'm not even sure if it's a scam from that Nigerian. The English was perfect. Maybe he took an English class.

The natural consequence of turning into one-party state, I guess. :(

Their pensions fall short.....They say the tax is for our own good.....we bend over, we get fucked.....the cycle repeats itself.
Welcome to California.

Wait till new registration renewal letters start hitting unsuspecting owners of older, cheap cars. Lots of people aren't gonna be happy. I've already heard one guy at a dog park grumbling about getting $250+ registration papers for his 80s jalopy which used to cost him less than $80 to renew. The fucking thing probably costs less than $1K on a very good day.
