"I had broken my leg running in a charity mud race in St. Petersburg, Florida"

Play stupid games - win stupid prizes.

Why the fuck did he need to run in the fucking mud? Simply donating money for the cause wasn't cool enough?

Yeah, how many of them drop kids like rabbit turds when in the military, then go back into civilian life and actually have to support them.

Another gem: "As the pop of my fibula snapping was still fresh in my ears, my body still caked in mud, I sat in the grass under the event’s medical tent. Leg swollen, with an ice pack melting in the 92-degree heat, I furiously used my phone to consult Google about what to do next—and how much it would cost."

Shouldn't he have asked these question BEFORE deciding to run in the fucking mud? Didn't he fucking know the fucking mud is fucking slippery? I mean, from his experience in the army and such?

"A veteran argues that civilians deserve the same access to coverage and treatment as those who wear the uniform." While I may roughly agree, service members sacrifice much of their freedoms, possibly their lives, and are pretty much property of the service during their tenure. Don't they deserve a little more?
