A $58,906 per year budget for a two-parent, two-child household makes Brownsville, Texas, the least expensive metro area in the country. You don't raise children in SF, you barcode them and offer them to Google or Apple.

The missing comparison is income to cost of living. Thought about moving up by Euguene until I found out my pay was going to decrease at about the same percentage as my expenses.
