I was in Palm Beach County Florida listening to the radio when an ad comes on for home equity loans.

The ad suggested the usual things to do with a home equity loan, but added "invest in Bitcoin!"

Bitcoin has a tendency to fluctuate downward up to 90% from time to time. I would not consider this a true investment.

I wonder if this is a sign of some kind?

That's because the people already maxed out their credit cards buying Bitcoin at 19,000.

They need another source to tap to lose all their money.

I'm sad so many ancaps of the "Build Our Own Sea City, Galt's Gulf" variety aren't around to explain how a currency that loses 50% of it's value in a few weeks is a great replacement for horrible "FIAT CURRENCY!"

In fact, bitcoin has literally every liability they said Fiat Currency had, but worse. Some ridiculous percentage of bitcoin is owned and controlled by a tiny group of people, it's entirely digital and can and has been hacked and virtual wallets emptied, and it takes so long to resolve a transaction that the bitcoin conference stopped taking it for attendees.

Other than buying drugs on the Dark Net, it doesn't have much of a purpose other than speculation. "Everybody needs Tulips!"

You knew Gold and Housing was about to crash when everybody was singing about it. I remember a few years ago, there we "We buy gold" at every conceivable location from pawn shops (no surprise) to Payday Loan Places to Real Estate Offices. That's when you knew Gold peaked.

Very unethical lender. They are encouraging desperate people to gamble with their equity. No doubt they will first charge an arm and a leg for the privilege.
They should be jailed.
