Its amazing how much SF has changed in the last 20-30 years, nothing like what I remember as a teen.

I found no Art in Manhattan going as far back as the early 2000's.
We a group from my job at the time on a company trip to visit a sister company in Manhattan. Walked from Broadway, Soho, the Village we walked everywhere trying to find a bar that had live music. Other than B.B. Kings joint we didn't try that one, because we weren't looking for an event that you have to buy a ticket at Ticket Master for.
Everywhere had lame ass house music D.J.s. We did find a couple piano bars but they were so flamboyantly gay we didn't stay long. I think we ended up at an alight Karaoke at about 1am after we walked up and down the whole city.
