Why wouldn't anyone want to live in a "transit village" next door to a BART station? Can't think of a single reason. I mean, how else do you persuade your kids that it's important to do good at school if you can't show them the homeless junkies every day?

I commuted on BART for twenty years until it became so dangerous and unreliable that I retired. I saw SF cops in BART stations. I saw SSF cops at the BART station. I never once saw a BART cop on a BART train or in a BART station, although I did see them frequently in the SSF Starbucks near the BART station.
