The only thing that will cure the Bay Areas traffic problems is to build more housing nearer to where the jobs are, and near to public transportation. Our traffic problems are just a symptom of our housing shortage.
Yes but think of the President that will run and get elected that promises to build new houses and developments along the stretch of highways and roads Donald the Great had constructed during his Presidency?
I always thought that instead of carpool lanes and freeway widening they should have a monorail or something going down the center of every freeway. Don't see why they couldn't do both building up housing near hubs and mass transit. I would like to see an end to all forms of sprawl in CA.
Why not more housing and more freeways? How about mandatory flex time for most offices? I've seen that as a cheap and easy way to make commutes easier. I know that I hit a lot more traffic near my office anyway if I happen to arrive at work at around 8 or 9 AM.
