A minimum wage chindian will probably take your life instead of saving it.

. The average pay for doctors in the United States is over $260,000 a year. This is more than twice the average for other wealthy countries.

Absolute and total nonsense. Credibility for this clown is zero.

They do in San Diego. We cross the border routinely for medical care.

They don’t face nearly as much foreign competition as they should because of the medical insurance program that everyone must be on...

I know the price tag of 1 lb if tomato. If I got sick, I do NOT know the price of anything. It is insurance company and doctors. I am out of the loop. NOT only there is NO foreign competition, even for domestic, the price competition is opaque. I am NOT suggesting medical procedure should be priced like tomato, but the lack of compare first and then make decision makes the matter complicated and filled with abuse. In the end everybody is dumbed down to take what ever insurance is asking or keep being employed. Another mechanism to enslave the public.

Just pay them 50K a year, and nobody has to worry about euthanasia any more.

What stops you from asking? It's really simple to do. Just pick up the phone or ask at the desk. The states that do have price transparency don't have any lower health care costs. People don't use it. NH found less than 1% of people used the states price website..

Amazing that no one can find any actual reduction in costs with price transparency but some people have a cult like belief that it will be the answer to high health care costs. https://www.nytimes.com/2016/12/19/upshot/price-transparency-is-nice-just-dont-expect-it-to-cut-health-costs.html

They face all the foreign competition that wants to do a residency in the US. Exactly the same as US doctors would have to do to practice in other first world countries. You have to prove you actually know how to practice medicine as opposed to knowing someone working in a government office willing to sell you a document that says you know medicine.

I went to a dentist in Mexico for 4 crowns that were 2/3rds the cost of an inferior porcelain on metal. That is my example of foreign outsourcing medical services.

People also go overseas for cosmetic surgery.

It occurred to me, earlier, that being a doctor is a miserable career choice. If you think of the cost o becoming a doctor, it is worse than someone buying a really expensive franchise.

Still a good investment if you're a mediocre performer. Even a dangerously incompetent doctor has access to huge insurance co. reimbursements provided they can complete a residency and land privileges somewhere.
