I'm not a fan of the change, but playing devils advocate here, don't most other countries just call it scouting and anyone can join? I assume it's likely male dominated at 90% or higher.

I know it's wikipedia, but I really don't see references to boy/girl restrictions. And in all honesty, at least at the higher level of boy scouts, it may not have been that bad to have some girls around if you know what I mean. When you're 15 and at a camp with a 20:1 scout to leader ratio, you meet some new girl from another area, and well I think you get the point. A little poke in the woods or the lake at night can be fun when you're that age.

I dislike the change more along the lines that it validates that men/boys can't get together with out including girls/women. Particularly with things like golf and country clubs. Places like Augusta specifically. It's my PRIVATE club, if I don't want a chick to play on my course, that's my choice. Create your own PRIVATE club for women and lock us men out and see what the reaction is. It will be crickets from us.

For the boys of the future... The only thing I see on offer lately is shame. And this is a shame, because getting in touch with productive expressions of masculinity is as important to boys and society as a whole as it is for girls to have opportunities to get in touch with productive expressions of their femininity.

1. Liability - someone will get sued eventually, and the organization who is responsible will be broke after enriching lawyers.
2. #METOO - parents of the girl will say that boy took sexual advantage of her, and then #1.
3. Religion - part of population is very religious, and according to them, Jesus does not condone pre-marital sex.

I sometimes think that #METOO is an outgrowth of US Puritan past.

Everything the leftists and progressive SJW's touch turns to shit. They are ruining sports, entertainment, schools, professions, families and of course the Boy Scouts.

Remember about a decade ago when all the "smart people" were telling everyone else that allowing gay scout masters wouldn't be a problem and then they would leave the Boy Scouts alone?

The leftist SJW's never give up and just come up with more and more demands until they kill or radically change the institution they are targeting.

You can't give an inch to these radicals.

My oldest that's a Boy Scout came back from a meeting a couple weeks ago pissed off about this. He could not understand why girls had to be allowed and that the name boy had to be removed since Girl Scouts still have their organization. BSA is really making a huge mistake doing this.

This is going to cause a lot of problems. Right now we have to have a minimum two adults per so many kids when we go on outings. Now with including girls will it be mandatory that one of the adults be a woman, what kind of concessions will have to be made, I could see a lot of things end up being canceled now. Putting hormonal teens together is just going to be a distraction and cause lawsuits and problems for the boys as the girls will play the victim.

I don’t think it’s right that boys can’t have their own anything without the bizarre left fucking it all up. All I hear about now in the news is girls this girls that, programs for girls, schools for girls, teaching styles for girls and so on while boys are being left behind.

How can the US becomes a full fledged matriarchy without women in control of the BSA, and before that happens, it's necessary to get more girls involved and more women in leadership roles.
