I just wish the article had indicated what sort of nationality he might have had! Or medical condition? Maybe he was morbidly obese and had folds that harbored small decaying animals? Maybe the smegma was getting super ripe?
Inquiring minds want to know just how awful this man’s hygiene was!

Also, why’d they let him on the plane? Perhaps a sniff test (scratch optional) would be in order for boarding Europeans?

I blame Liberals. The Airport terminal security check point was so scared of losing their job over Body Shaming someone. They let him through, the gate ticket taker was so worried about being live streamed callously turning the stinky customer away he left it up to the SJW Gods to deal with.
And Thirdly I blame the guy that sat next to him. He must have been last one to board the plane just as they were reaching to close the door. Fuck him he should have left earlier.
That way he could have brought up the man's BO before the plane left the gate.

This is what we get when people aren't appropriately shamed in society.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, sometimes you just need to be offensive.

He didn't need to be shamed but he did need to be approached by Security and a member of Airport Management and Safety. And explained due to his hygiene he could possibly board the plane. The airport and airline have a higher standard and expectation for personal hygiene and safety. Treated with respect not left up to the public to dole out Social Justice, the only shame is the guy showed up like that in the first place.

Oh thank God he fit in the seat and wan't too fat for anyone though. You know what fuck everyone on the plane and the airline too, they deserved what they got. Make seats wider and guy next to him wouldn't have had his nose up the guys unwashed armpit!

You touch on the truth here. Underpinning your statement is the fact that you MUST stand up for your own rights or people will walk over you, piss on you, and probably take a protracted shit on your corpse. I don’t care if it’s a stranger you’ve never met, a coworker or boss, or even a family member or spouse! If they encroach on your well-being or way of life, you have to take a stand.

That’s ALWAYS going to include offending the offending person! But if you don’t, you’re tacitly acknowledging that their wishes and privileges TRUMP your own rights and wishes. That they are so much more important than you, that they have the right to shit all over your happiness if they so please.

You might think to accept and concede is the more sociable thing to do. But with your concession, that person achieves license to continue their antisocial behavior, which ruins society in general! That’s why bullies must always be confronted. Whether they’re kicking sand in your face on the beach, or being such a disgustingly smelly fat fuck on public transportation that everyone else is puking.

He DID need to be shamed! Shame is the method we use as a society to put a correction on members who are doing things that are offensive or damaging to society! Being a horrifically smelly fuck is definitely worthy of some motherfucking shame!

Maybe the guy puked on himself before boarding?

Most people would be ashamed at any hint they smell bad. Some people just don't react to just shaming - what's an occasional "take a bath, dude"?

Or “You smell like something a hobo shat onto a white hot Hibachi grill!”

No actually it's a sign of mental illness perhaps security at the terminal should have held him on suspicion of his state of mind. And not let him board that plane until a mental evaluation and a show and change of clothes at least. I'm thinking he must smell like a crap stained piss bum. He might have some serious mental issues. Now if he wasn't that bad and he didn't get noticed by anyone else. We could have a Thespian that was butt hurt because the guy was a White Boomer.

For Transavia this is not the first smelly incident on their flights this year.

In February, a Transavia plane was forced to make an emergency landing because a passenger could not stop releasing wind.

The flight from Dubai to Amsterdam had to land in the Austrian capital of Vienna after a brawl between passengers broke out because of the passenger’s flatulence.

What's their advertising slogan: "Into the clouds and barf away"?

I saw this story on another site, turned out he'd been dead for three weeks.

So when some 300lb lardass wears a skimpy bathing suit, your first thought is they're mentally unstable? Believe it or not, there are some people in this world who are fully mentally competent, but are also completely anti-social. They don't give a shit how their appearance or smell affects you, and unless you make a stink about it, expect more emergency landings.

It is a medical condition, maybe?, it's called PATM. I found a medscape or something blog that was covering it as someone was treating themselves for it.

It all boils down to gut bacteria.. to much of one, not enough of another, in the wrong place, bacterial infection, over eating, under eating, malabsorption, etc, etc.

He didn't need to be shamed but he did need to be told that he stunk and couldn't get on the plane smelling like he does. I'm not sure if that qualifies as SHAMING in 2018. We just used to call that "telling the truth". In the long run, they are doing him a favor.

Smell is subjective. Unless he's provably diseased, wtf is a gate agent supposed to do?
