Tim Draper touted the Theranos fraud and personally mentored Elizabeth Holmes.

It's a clown show.

Finally, a ballot issue worth voting on. I might have to register for the first time in over 10 years.

The split seems wrong in my opinion, and would keep the entire thing blue.

I think it should be coastal vs. non-coastal. As in San Diego, straight up through SF state one - and then like 40 miles inland to the Nevada border state 2.

When I lived there, the entire coast was hardcore liberal, where as you go inland and it's crazy conservative.

They should just kick all government bureaucrats out, along with taxes. That'll solve all the problems.

Does anyone have any theories as to what this is about? Media articles say some vague crap about making govt "compete" for us, and that it would save us money.

The way they split it up doesn't shout to me anything in particular. I would think maybe divide by political affiliation, or by tax payer vs tax mooch regions. But, I don't see either of those with these division regions.

And, what's with the "save money" part? Seems we would be duplicating many efforts by having more states, defying the principal of economies of scale. Maybe the "desired people" would save money?

I guess the "clean slate" argument does seem appealing to me, though.

My pessimistic side thinks the venture capitalist behind this smells massive money opportunity if he can push this through.

All I know is smaller government is better, don't really car how it's done.

It's not going to be smaller overall if you make 3 out of one.

If this passes, the Water Issue gets a whole lot more fun.

No idea what you're referring to, but my new state will no longer include LA or San Fran. Less people = smaller.

Southern California would likely be red with Orange County and San Diego.

Divide between LA and SF, and SF and Sacramento. LA gets San Diego as a throw in. No trade backs.
