Let's see what no neck Prickzer proposes. If taxes increase at all in my income range, not a chance in hell he'll get reelected come 2022. And the IL exodus will exponentially increase here. Maybe it will be a good thing long term I guess. Just burn the whole damn thing down.

I don't egt this stupid state. They already raised taxes by what 30% ?? and that didn't make a dent. They propose raising taxes even more and voters vote in the dems. I guess the majority are welfare cases living on the dole in one way or another or renters???

My friend who bought a 500k home a few years ago is paying 17k a year in property axes that he can't offload. With trump's taxes-he can't deduct it either from federal xes. Now this.

I know a bunch who are planning on leaving -me incuded. FL looks nice-no state taxes, much lower property taxes and that vile socialist Gollum the precious was defeated!

I mena ya think they will ever reduce property taxes-this fool ptizker wants free everything-LOL!!

By the way is AZ fileld with CA commie fucks?? McSally is ony marginally up over the pink tutu wearing liberal who thinks Americans should join the Taliban and kill American troops-I mean in AZ??? That is only because there is green party candidate who got some elftie votes else tutu wearing Taliban lover would be AZ senator?? Gasp and I always thought AZ might be one of the places I might move to.

A progressive tax in IL is doomed to backfire massively. We don't have Prop 13 like CA. Even if we did and it was implemented tomorrow, the baseline in IL is sooooo much higher then a CA.

If someone making say $200k as a family jumps from 4.95% (or whatever it is now) to say 8-9%, good luck keeping those people around. They're likely already capped on their SALT from just property taxes alone. So any increase in income tax is likely just pissed away and not deducted federally.

The tax plan was 100% implemented to fuck over the heavy blue states (NJ, NY, IL, CA, etc). Specifically trying to switch high property tax and income tax paying citizens in those states to the red team. We'll see if it works. I think it just results in people moving out of those places, but who knows.

I can't imagine living in Illinois these days.

As you point out, at least California has Prop 13 protecting us from the Democrat retards. And our weather is spectacular.

If I had to work in the City, I would commute from Indiana or Wisconsin. Not worth the high cost of living and dysfunction IMO.

Wisconsin is not all that it's been made out to be though. Property taxes are lower, but they're not as far off from IL as most would think. New WI Dem Gov. probably changes income tax just like here in IL. If you're going to deal with winters though, WI at least has some better terrain, views, parks, etc. Property taxes are more a local function, but as more FIB's move up to WI, they're going to take their tax and spend policies with them. Gotta spend a lot on schools with zero results.

Indiana would be the better option, but that also comes at a cost in the class of people you'll be around. IN is icky in child speak. Have some family members that made the leap and even in nicer suburban type areas, the native Indianian's? are kind of low life's. Judgmental, sure. True, yes.

Although IN is going to get some benefits from legal dope in Michigan is my guess. The productive potheads that were thinking of bailing on IL, might be more likely to now that MI has legal pot and is within pissing distance of the IN border. MI is going to see a big uptick in tourism, like serious uptick.

Hey man - don't go bagging on Hoosiers! I was born in Chicago but was pretty much raised in Indiana and went to IU for college. Granted, I lived in a very nice city (Carmel) and was not in the shitty "Region" portion in northwest Indiana.
