Lol Litecoin at 33. I hope people listened to the creator of Litecoin when he said $300/Litecoin is insane and it's not worth that.

So glad I got out.

But no economy can have any meaning at all unless it is denominated by a currency backed by hysteria that can lose all of its value for any reason or no reason at any time.

Don't forget that the best place to store your wealth is in a computer of a Russian or Chinese hacker.

4   Ceffer   2018 Nov 21, 3:04pm

Why do you hate speculative opportunity?

It's not a failure, it's just not an investment tool. The original intention of Bitcoin was anonimity and it still achieves that.

I read somewhere that FBI traced a few people through bitcoin transactions, but I may be wrong.

After potcoin and AF's SuckMyDickThisIsAFraudCoin we need FuckYouCoin, capitalizing on legalized prostitution.

Does this mean I can afford to buy my kid a graphics card for Christmas? Went with the Ryzen 3 2200g ($99!) processor with integrated graphics this past summer for the "budget 720p gamer build".

Just like anything, it depends on how you use it. Cold storage and a new id for every transaction are mandatory.

Tracing is not the real issue to most of us who is honest and nothing to hide.
The real issue is "cryptocurrency difficulty level" that can be altered by "coordinated effort by all owners" in minting new coins. To me, this is not any different from the "fiat currency" in theory.

An alt-coin backed by canadian hooker services? "Each coin is worth one bang w an 8+"

Brilliant.

Rins next start up model.

And unlike bitcoin it’s backed by something.

Hmmm, that is a renewable resource, and a commodity (men agree quite closely on every woman's ranking on the physical beauty bell curve). It's not learned, and not cultural, no matter how much feminists lie about that. Male perception of female beauty is innate, and reflects a woman's fertility, which is kind of obvious in evolutionary terms.

So a coin based on this objective standard of beauty would indeed have value to all straight men.

I mentioned in an older thread that I consider bitcoin still massively overpriced at 9k, the same goes for pot stocks. If you got in really early you are likely still up massively but just a few weeks back they looked crazily overvalued and have retreated considerably since then. cvsi, tlry, tcnnf etc. I would stay clear now unless you are broadly invested in the sector to see who the winners will be, cause there will be a lot of losers. With legalization we had the usual sell the news profit taking and now the margin pressure will build up and weed will get commoditized. It's still a massive market likely to grow much further, but it also already has plenty of players grabbing for market share and also plenty of scams. Eventually it will consolidate, so I consider investing in just a select few still very risky here.
19   Ceffer   2018 Nov 22, 11:49am

Marijuana is a plant anybody can grow in their back yard. How close to a tulip bulb can you get for 'investment'?

Now, if it were as addictive as nicotine, crack or meth, you might have something.
20   Patrick   2018 Nov 22, 12:30pm

I think weed is about as addictive as coffee.

Not zero, but not very significant either.

it's a very successful pyramid scheme scam. A lot of people lost money there.

I'm only surprised this wasn't addressed by Feds yet. Pyramid schemes are illegal, yet this one is flourishing.

Again, I'm not sure you understand the purpose of bitcoin. It was specifically designed to allow for transactions outside the banking system, and to protect privacy. You do know that privacy and security are important for everyone right? If you disagree, I invite you to list your known medical conditions and times when you will be away from your home with address.

I agree it has its use cases but it was and probably still is massively overpriced.

Agreed as I mentioned already, it’s not an investment tool. The inflation in price, like many so called commodities in this fake economy, is unsustainable, and not backed by customer usage.

Crypto-currency mining at PG&Es base rate of 21.5 cents/kWHr isn't profitable. Who knew?
