Some of the ways people deal with truths they would rather not hear:

* silence
* change the topic
* blame the speaker for creating bad feelings
* misrepresent the speaker's point, and them shame him for making a point he did not

Others?

Reject the truth you deliver by quoting some convenient authority and then condemn you personally for having the wrong belief instead of refuting the inconvenient truth they have rejected.

Happens all the time.

Saying "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all" (as if the truth can be labeled good or bad?) it's just the truth...

Find biased researches done by other people who share his opinion and shame the other guy without questioning themselves and doing some deep neutral research.

Put a pussyhat on and ramble incoherently.

Attack the messenger, tying his factual message to unpopular or unacceptable, but upon examination, irrelevant beliefs.

Example: talk about female black obesity (factual), be branded a racist (irrelevant).

Example: talk about black on black murder rates (factual), be branded a racist (irrelevant).

Example: Talk about the #1 Negative Environment for Children - being raised by a Single Mother. Branded a controlling Misogynist.

Thing is, the Left is animated by the idea that they alone have the Truth! It's an absolutist religion. Question it at your peril.

Anyone who tells me truth I don't agree with is RACIST!!!

There is no such thing as truth. Trump never lies. The media always lies about Trump that is they tell their truth, but there is no truth - just different opinions.

If you accept that there is no such thing as truth, then you can understand that the negative view that so many have of Trump is totally the media's fault.

The media creates reality. Why can't we just let Trump have his reality show, and praise him as he deserves to be praised.

So you wouldn’t mind being locked in a box with poison gas triggered by the possible decay of a radioactive isotope?
You’d neither be dead nor alive. The purest form of untruth!

Can you please point out in any other posts above where Trump's name was mentioned regarding the OP? Why this straw man?

A panel of evangelical leaders, including Jim Bakker, Pat Robertson, and Jerry Falwell, Jr., announced Wednesday they will resume preaching about the importance of absolute truth the moment that President Trump leaves office.

Their former belief in the importance of universal truth has been officially put on hold until a Democrat becomes president.

“We know it’s been a confusing couple of years here, so we wanted to set the record straight,” said Falwell. “We care deeply about absolute truth, but we’re going to put that belief on the back-burner until we no longer need to use Donald Trump to hold political power.”

“Until then, we’ll pretend all truth is relative,” he added.

They further confirmed that the moment a Democrat is caught in a lie, no matter how inconsequential to his or her character or ability to govern, they will reserve the right to immediately begin banging the gong of “truth matters” for the duration of the scandal.

Just like during the Obama Adminstration they mindlessly regurgitated WH Press Releases. Moment Trump is elected, they decide a new standard of Journalism is "Accountability Journalism" aka Nay Saying anything out of the Admin and only looking for contrary narratives.
