A civil war has begun.

This civil war is very different than the last one. There are no cannons or cavalry charges. The left doesn’t want to secede. It wants to rule. Political conflicts become civil wars when one side refuses to accept the existing authority. The left has rejected all forms of authority that it doesn’t control.

The left has rejected the outcome of the last two presidential elections won by Republicans.
It has rejected the judicial authority of the Supreme Court when it decisions don’t accord with its agenda. It rejects the legislative authority of Congress when it is not dominated by the left.

It rejected the Constitution so long ago that it hardly bears mentioning.

It was for total unilateral executive authority under Obama. And now it’s for states unilaterally deciding what laws they will follow.
(As long as that involves defying immigration laws under Trump, not following them under Obama.) It was for the sacrosanct authority of the Senate when it held the majority. Then it decried the Senate as an outmoded institution when the Republicans took it over.

It was for Obama defying the orders of Federal judges, no matter how well grounded in existing law, and it is for Federal judges overriding any order by Trump on any grounds whatsoever. It was for Obama penalizing whistleblowers, but now undermining the government from within has become “patriotic”.

There is no form of legal authority that the left accepts as a permanent institution. It only utilizes forms of authority selectively when it controls them. But when government officials refuse the orders of the duly elected government because their allegiance is to an ideology whose agenda is in conflict with the President and Congress, that’s not activism, protest, politics or civil disobedience; it’s treason.

After losing Congress, the left consolidated its authority in the White House. After losing the White House, the left shifted its center of authority to Federal judges and unelected government officials. Each defeat led the radicalized Democrats to relocate from more democratic to less democratic institutions.

This isn’t just hypocrisy. That’s a common political sin. Hypocrites maneuver within the system. The left has no allegiance to the system. It accepts no laws other than those dictated by its ideology.

Democrats have become radicalized by the left. This doesn’t just mean that they pursue all sorts of bad policies. It means that their first and foremost allegiance is to an ideology, not the Constitution, not our country or our system of government. All of those are only to be used as vehicles for their ideology.

That’s why compromise has become impossible.

Our system of government was designed to allow different groups to negotiate their differences. But those differences were supposed to be based around finding shared interests. The most profound of these shared interests was that of a common country based around certain civilizational values. The left has replaced these Founding ideas with radically different notions and principles. It has rejected the primary importance of the country. As a result it shares little in the way of interests or values.

Instead it has retreated to cultural urban and suburban enclaves where it has centralized tremendous amounts of power while disregarding the interests and values of most of the country. If it considers them at all, it is convinced that they will shortly disappear to be replaced by compliant immigrants and college indoctrinated leftists who will form a permanent demographic majority for its agenda.

But it couldn’t wait that long because it is animated by the conviction that enforcing its ideas is urgent and inevitable. And so it turned what had been a hidden transition into an open break.

In the hidden transition, its authority figures had hijacked the law and every political office they held to pursue their ideological agenda. The left had used its vast cultural power to manufacture a consensus that was slowly transitioning the country from American values to its values and agendas. The right had proven largely impotent in the face of a program which corrupted and subverted from within.

The left was enormously successful in this regard. It was so successful that it lost all sense of proportion and decided to be open about its views and to launch a political power struggle after losing an election.

The Democrats were no longer being slowly injected with leftist ideology. Instead the left openly took over and demanded allegiance to open borders, identity politics and environmental fanaticism. The exodus of voters wiped out the Democrats across much of what the left deemed flyover country.

The left responded to democratic defeats by retreating deeper into undemocratic institutions, whether it was the bureaucracy or the corporate media, while doubling down on its political radicalism. It is now openly defying the outcome of a national election using a coalition of bureaucrats, corporations, unelected officials, celebrities and reporters that are based out of its cultural and political enclaves.

It has responded to a lost election by constructing sanctuary cities and states thereby turning a cultural and ideological secession into a legal secession. But while secessionists want to be left alone authoritarians want everyone to follow their laws. The left is an authoritarian movement that wants total compliance with its dictates with severe punishments for those who disobey.

The left describes its actions as principled. But more accurately they are ideological. Officials at various levels of government have rejected the authority of the President of the United States, of Congress and of the Constitution because those are at odds with their radical ideology. Judges have cloaked this rejection in law. Mayors and governors are not even pretending that their actions are lawful.

Yes it has, the only thing missing is the shooting.

Accurate article, and the direction the country is going. The political divide WON'T stop until this war is completed. Plus, the delusional beliefs by the Left, along with the constant "gas pouring on the flames" by the Liberal media, make this civil war, all but certain.

Better get prepared! Got ammo?

Anyone warming up to the idea of a Civil war has no idea what is coming or the definition of a Civil War.

It will be the first Civil War fought around the world. With enemies and allies spread out among several countries.
The most dangerous thing will be there will not be clear sides. It wont be a one side vs the other. There will be man factions, and those factions will have alliances and enemies spread out among those factions. There will not be a clear leader or a clear objective. There wont even be a way to gauge who is winning and who is losing.

You alliance with one person will make you an enemy of another you thought was your Allie.

It will be a Civil War that everyone is fighting alone. It wont be pretty and I don't recommend it.
May I suggest a revolution instead? They are in season this time a year, and we have several verities to chose from. Our Revolutions are made by the finest craftsmen and guaranteed to usher in change or your Country back free of charge.

Not in the sense as compared to CW I.

It will be a civil war, but your enemy could be the guy living across the street. It will be more guerilla warfare, where local groups will be targeting other local groups.

So, which revolution are you planning on starting?

None at least Revolts have an objective. Civil War is, we're going to shoot at each other until further notice.
What are we trying to achieve, "Fuck Them!" that's what!
7   Shaman   2019 Feb 19, 1:32pm

I would argue that we require a return to a rule of law, abandoning the extra-legal actions of the Leftists among us.
Since President Trump was elected, we’ve seen a gradual change in direction of the ship of state away from Leftist horse shit and towards the proper adherence to law and the Constitution.

It’s a shame that the Democrats stole so many close elections this past cycle, because it put the unlawful and unAmerican Democrat Leftists in charge of a key part of the government process. This must be remedied in 2020, or Trump will continue to have to use executive authority to bypass our gridlocked legislative process to do basic governance.

I just can’t see how anyone is fooled by the Democrats and their hateful and unlawful actions. I can only blame the media and their 24/7 propaganda PsyOps for brainwashing the more vulnerable and naive members of society.

AND where does the left stupidly concentrate their populations? In cities.

Just on the Left alone you'll have so much infighting. Don't kid yourself.
Gays against Trannys, Blacks against Latinos, it will be every faction for themselves.
We're seeing the Left splinter now into different Ideologies.

Yes, it essentially wants the USA to become like China as far as being a socialist and authoritarian state. It uses intimidation and other Orweillian tactics in order to "fundamentally change America". It uses soft and non-physical intimidation by trying to economically ruin someone like get them fired from their job by labeling them as a racist, etc. It believes in the power of a federal government such as using the IRS or its law enforcement powers to target political dissidents.

And THAT is why we are heading for Civil War 2

I hope not. That would wreck a lot of people and things and set us back permanently behind China who is our primary rival. I hope that this ship can correct course before we hit the rocks or the pirates try to take it. It’s begun to make the turn. We just have to stay committed to the tiller and keep pushing back against the rats.

Not going to happen, the ship has already hit the iceberg and has a huge hole. Only question left, when do the "passengers" wake up to that fact?
12   steverbeaver   2019 Feb 19, 8:16pm

Oh I think we are pretty far from blows yet. One weird trick that would probably fix a lot is abolishing dual citizenry and adoption of merit-based voting. And I wouldn't underestimate the left in any capacity.
13   HeadSet   2019 Feb 19, 8:25pm

adoption of merit-based voting.

How would that work? I could see a vote weighted to actual taxes paid.
14   steverbeaver   2019 Feb 19, 9:06pm

Exactly. Or time put into some public project. Then it shouldn't matter as much if they are competent or not.
15   Bd6r   2019 Feb 20, 10:59am

Lets hope for all of us sake that we will not get into any civil war. I suspect people here have no idea what is it like. It is much more vicious than regular war.

I lived through disintegration of USSR (in a relatively peaceful area, very few dead) and I was in former Yugoslavia in 1991 for a few months. Believe me, you do not want to even think about that.
16   Shaman   2019 Feb 20, 11:35am

Exactly @d6rb
Some of these guys are thinking with their trigger fingers instead of their heads. Destabilizing everything leads to anarchy which is the worst sort of state imaginable where the meanest strongest most ruthless and psychotic people rule and obscene abuse of normal humanity is the norm.
Literally any government is better than that. That’s why communists try first for anarchy, so they can come behind it with a communist government ready to go. If the people had an alternative, they’d never go for communism. But the anarchists like Che Guavera are useful idiots for the authoritarians who come after promising peace and security (at the price of all liberty).

Based this allegation on what ?

Not so sure own special brand of Democracy we bring to "free" countries from oppression is anything to write home about either

Today's liberals want to create gulags . not far fetched-they didn't think they were going there-when they won "freedom".

I can only pray socialism does not take over this country.

Today's liberals want to create gulags ?

Let's see, Stephen Miller, Bolton, Elliott Abrams and assorted other left overs from the Reagan, Bush I and Dubya administrations in the current regime, tent cities, attacking the press daily, .....

,“silent enim leges inter arma”, “in times of war, the laws fall silent”.

The maxim was rephrased as “inter arma enim silent leges” and was used after September 11 by the US media to whip up the population into supporting GWB’s warmongering.

Scalia on Interment Camps - 'Kidding yourself' if you think internment camps won't return

That’s what was going on - the panic about the war and the invasion of the Pacific and whatnot. That’s what happens. It was wrong, but I would not be surprised to see it happen again, in time of war. It’s no justification, but it is the reality,” he said.

Yeah! And we could even set up a Citizen's Social Credit Score to keep track of all that. Of course, it would NEVER be used for any other purpose. Just like how the government codified into law that one's social security number would never be used for anything else but social security administrative purposes!

Or like actual taxes paid weighted to actual voting power. That would be easy: Abolish the 16th Amendment.

Then the folks in Wyoming who only get one representative in the House because they are (actually less than) 1% of the population would only pay 1% of the federal income tax revenue take.

Why not. That's in the spirit of what I am saying. But some people don't have money but have time, and can earn their say by other means of contribution.
