1) According to Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF.org) data, approximately 60% of non-elderly Medicaid recipients in California are Hispanic.

2) Latinos Struggle to Close Gap with Whites in California ACT Scores
Joy Resmovitis, Los Angeles Times, August 26, 2015

A performance gap on the ACT college entrance exam persisted this year between California’s Latino and white high school students, according to new test results. Educators and experts find this trend particularly concerning. They had hoped for better results from the relatively small segment of test takers who are largely a self-selected group of students who are motivated to get to college. Poverty can have a profound effect on education–but income inequality by itself does not explain educational disparities, according to Ryan Smith, the executive director of Education Trust-West". “Race does play a factor in student achievement. It’s not just an issue of class,” Smith said. “It’s a conversation that is lacking, particularly among education leaders.”

Odd that illiterate Indians can't instantly become millionaires by crossing the border. Racism! Reparations, now!

Skills and ability don’t matter when states mantra is “diversity and equality”. They’ll take from earners what they need or want to equalize things.

Education won't matter much in the coming years. Robots (both software and hardware) are going to take most of the jobs.

Barrons reported about robotics taking over agriculture. Combine this with the oversupply of Central American immigrants to the USA. I am not sure if the white liberals will be able to continue to making the argument about paying $20 for a strawberry without immigrant help.

What caught my attention in the LA Times article is the quote: “Race does play a factor in student achievement. It’s not just an issue of class" So is that a reason to promote affirmative action and diversity in various institutions (like college admissions) regardless if the minority applicant comes from a middle class or rich household ?

Robots: What power source?

Electric, huge new load. Forget about catching up with the % of renewables in the grid.
Combustion? To the Moon! Oil prices

Demographics in CA are changing, and with it policies. Once majority changes, the new majority likes to be in charge. I guess you can say previous majority that lost it willingly are clueless losers.

Good point MisterLearnToCode. Yes, anything "electro-mechanical" will need power just like gasoline was needed for tractor combines or combine harvesters when a lot of wheat harvesting was taken over by machine.

I suspect with innovations with electric vehicles, that the agriculture machines will be electric-powered and not have an internal combustion engine. And right now I read that 19% of US electric grid is powered by renewables (i.e., wind, power, hydro, etc.).

But we'll need a very capable workforce to operate the machines, and renewable power grid.

More gold stars and unlimited immigration will solve this problem.

Ceffer, I suspect Marcus would silently agree with that.
