When asked if Julian Assange should be considered a hero or a villain, Geraldo Rivera responded that “Julian Assange is an anti-American slime ball, whose every action was designed to hurt the United States of America.”

“He tried to undermine our efforts in Afghanistan and Iraq,” said Geraldo.  And Assange did this by “releasing the Chelsea Manning video,” you know, the one that shows a journalist being slaughtered on streets of Iraq?

After asking the audience if they thought Assange was a hero, no one in Fox studio raised their hand.  Sad to see not one among them would stand with Julian Assange and the freedom of the press.

Except it doesn't. All it shows is some stupid cunt running around with insurgents with some kind of tube in his hands, which he proceeds to point at a helicopter and ultimately winning his well-deserved stupid prize for playing stupid games.

Moreover, that particular episode was never "covered up" - it was investigated and even described in a book published long before the video was posted on wikileaks.

Yep, it was a tragic mistake, which is why war sucks. Similar things happen in every war and are not unheard of with law enforcement. It the darkness all foil wrapped subs look like pistols or knives, especially if the suspect is screaming obsenities at you. It happens.

Narrative Defenders(tm) attempt to classify mistakes as nasty acts of evil.

Assange is neither a hero nor a villain. He is just an asshole.

However, if what he reported was the truth, then that is the end of the inquiry.

We have a depraved and corrupt press vending steaming turds of corporate lies to us on a daily basis. If they successfully persecute one guy for spreading the truth, however embarrassing or inconvenient or "National Security, (Barf Gag)", that is decisively game over for the tattered First Amendment. The "National Security" blanket exemption is not sufficient.

They should pardon him and move on.

Is that a trick question?

Simplest question ever asked

That's why I am perplexed - anyone who has seen Rivera on TV has noticed that he oozes slime like a slug. Must be there is some trick in question

ASSANGE EXPOSED POWER, THE PUBLIC CAN FORCE IT TO EVAPORATE

Unfortunately, public is more concerned with Bezos dick pics, Kadashian's boob and butt sizes, or worthless opinions of celebrities that have less matter in their skulls than what is observed in vacuum of outer space.

Edit: I think Assange situation is also the case where people with generally left- or right wing (libertarian) views agree.
