Cops bust man who kept ‘attack squirrel’ hopped up on meth.

The Alabama man who authorities say kept an “attack squirrel” in a cage and hopped it up on methamphetamine to keep it surly has been arrested, police announced.

Mickey Paulk, 35, was busted Thursday night when authorities conducting surveillance at a local hotel spotted him leaving on a stolen ambulance, police said. After a brief pursuit, Paulk rammed into an investigator’s vehicle and was taken into custody.

Paulk was booked into the Lauderdale County Jail on drug and gun charges, AL.com reported. He has additional charges of attempting to elude, criminal mischief, receiving stolen property and felon in possession of a pistol — he had a .45 in his waistband when he was arrested, cops said.

Police were on the hunt for Paulk since June 18, when authorities raided his apartment and rescued the bushy-tailed critter.

They also seized meth, drug paraphernalia and body armor.

Prior to the raid, investigators heard that Paulk kept an attack squirrel inside his apartment and that Paulk “fed the squirrel meth to keep it aggressive,” said sheriff’s spokesman Stephen Young in a news release.

The furry creature was released to a nearby wooden area on the advice of state conservation officials, Young said.

There was no safe way to test the animal for meth, said Sheriff Mike Blakely’s office in a press release.

At the time of that raid, a man inside the suspected drug den, Ronnie Reynolds, 37, was arrested on possession of controlled substance and other charges.

He was released from the Limestone County Jail on $4,000 bail.

When news of the drugged up squirrel became public, it quickly drew national attention — and someone even launched a Twitter page for the rodent.

“Bye Paulk!” the page posted, retweeting authorities’ announcement about the Thursday arrest.
