I remember this guy because I was working in the area at the time.

I'd agree that a relationship between an old man and a significantly younger woman always entails money or fame / status the girl is after, with a few rare exceptions. The question is simply where to put the age of adulthood to make the distinction between victim and consensual. This is one of the fewer instances where I agreed with the duck who is no longer on this site, I think 18 is too high, 16 sounds about right, in line with a fully developed biology. Of course if it's your daughter you want it to be 25+, but reality is you need to educate and bring up your kids well enough so they don't go on such foolish endeavors. Personally I'd say a 16 year old girl is wrt societal intelligence much farther developed than a 16 year old boy.
