Too funny that Dems relied on gerrymandering for decades to hold onto congressional power . Now, of course, when it is not in their favor (having lost many state legislatures), only NOW do they want the court to remedy the problem. The fact that this was even taken to SCOTUS is worrisome as districting has always been deferred to the state legislature. Of course, this was eroded, for better or worse, with civil rights legislation that allowed courts to look at racially disparate results, as well as due apportionment between rural/urban areas. It is interesting law...

Dems are always shooting themselves in the foot.

2008-2016 : Obummer uses Executive actions to push his anti-america, socialist agenda.
2017 - Present: Trump elected and begins doing the same thing to undo all of Obummer's legacy.

2013: Dems Eliminate Filibuster protection for Senate Appointments
2017: Trump begins forcing Conservative judges into positions at the Federal Appeals court level up to the Supreme Court level.

2018: Dems try to eliminate electoral college
2020: Trump wins popular vote and gets California and New Yorks Electoral votes.

I think he wins, but I suspect he loses the popular vote again. Not a big deal as the system is working the way it was designed to. I just think the blue states (that went for Hillary anyway) are going to come out in full force thinking it's going to make a difference (CA, IL, NY, etc.) and the overall number will go towards the Dem.

The outlier in all this is the well to do folks in the blue states and how they process what is likely a tax increase for them with the $10k SALT cap in the new tax law. Do they blame Trump for it or their local politicians for taxing the shit out of them? These are the movers and shakers and even though they only have one vote, they influence a lot of other people and how they may vote.

Do you want the states or federal government to decide how to draw districts? I'm sure even loony liberals would not want to give Trump that power right now lol.

Give politicians that power and voting districts will look like a molecular structure of a citric acid.

Excellent news! The Supremes have again ruled that it is NOT the Federal Court's responsibility to correct political gerrymandering, again repeating that it was something the Founders both knew about and often participated in, yet made no effort to direct the Federal Government to interfere in State districting.

Seems that SCOTUS is limiting themselves only to redistricting on racial or other innate characteristics, not mere politically motivated issues.

It's only called Gerrymandering if you lose.

If the Liberals and Democrats don't like the shitty end of the stick they wield so gladly.
Then god damn it, don't change rules unless you can be certain you'll always maintain power.

They love changing the rules then whine like stuck pigs when it bites them in the ass.

They think they are so fucking entitled to an uncontested constituency.

That is the most disgusting thing of all. I would prefer a Dictator over them.
At least Dictators don't make it a priority to kill Babies.

And when you lose and complain, that's a losers mindset. Gerrymander better or getting fucking better candidates or better policy platforms or better anything. That goes for both parties. Don't bitch and moan when things don't go your way.

These people are supposed to be leaders and not pussies. House and Senate seats are the big leagues. You can either make it or you can't. If you go running home to mommy and cry in her tits over boundaries, I'm glad you didn't get elected. That's not what leaders do. And yes, admittedly Trump complains a lot and that's one of the many beefs I have with the POTUS.

He doesn't complain he revels in the constant by the minute rule changes. When he has the power and authority to stop it all. But he allows it so he can go on the news and bemoan how he's being unfairly treated.

Yup. One of my fav lines I like to pull with Libtards here in CA go something like this:

I have a different take. My neighborhood poker games include some transplants fro Northern Virginia, who moved to the Williamsburg area to get away from the taxes, but bring their lefty politics with them. When one of them talks politics, I just politely listen, since I like keeping the games fun. But when I see them outside, and they mention something about how bad it is that a tract of forest nearby is being leveled to make a housing development, I calmly point out that if we have unfettered illegal immigration and population growth, we will need to build more houses. Then move the subject on to yards, the Nats, or kids. I figure that planting the seed may bring them to reason eventually on why an influx of illegals is a bad idea.

Jesús, my main man Chuy (Chewy) Garcia's district!!! This is the purest form of gerrymandering on the planet if you know any of these neighborhoods. I think you can guess what ethnicity/group is represented in this hysterical map.
