Secretary of Labor Alexander Acosta on Tuesday welcomed new sex trafficking charges brought against hedge fund manager Jeffrey Epstein as the Trump official faces blowback for cutting a plea deal with him over a decade ago.

“The crimes committed by Epstein are horrific, and I am pleased that NY prosecutors are moving forward with a case based on new evidence,” Acosta wrote on Twitter. “With the evidence available more than a decade ago, federal prosecutors insisted that Epstein go to jail, register as a sex offender and put the world on notice that he was a sexual predator.”

Acosta concluded his statement saying that new evidence provides prosecutors an “important opportunity to more fully bring him to justice.”

President Donald Trump on Tuesday praised Secretary of Labor Alexander Acosta’s job performance and pledged that his handling of a decade-old sex case against hedge fund manager Jeffrey Epstein will be “very carefully” reviewed.

President Trump, addressing reporters at the White House, added that he could imagine Acosta likely wishing he handled the Epstein case differently.

" I am delighted that Epstein has been brought up on more charges. I have spent all the bribe money and used up the influence peddling from the first case, and it is certainly time for more! I hope they will allow me to be involved again."

I wonder if Epstein was the original blackmail victim. His preferences and practices were known. He could have been told to pimp and set up his billionaire front and ensnare as many black-mailable politicians, royals, and celebs as possible or face imminent imprisonment. He could continue his favored habits while luring the rest to the honeytraps.

His whole 'billionaire voluptuary' gig smacks of an intelligence ensnarement setup. Who, what, if or wherefore are the questions.
