tldr:
The HR boss shot down my proposal for 4/10 hour workdays

Goes up on stage in front of 200 people and says 'flexible work schedule' is on the table

I call him out on it

I'll be fired in 30 days

This is why I chose companies very carefully, based what kind of creep they have got or don't working in HR.

How long have you been with the company, and what level employee are you?

HR is not your representative. They are there to protect the interests of the corporation.

I steer clear of them and don’t consider them a resource to me in any way, shape or form.

Absolutely.

They are not your friends and you should never even talk to them. Too dangerous. Usually HR is 100% minorities, militant feminists, and gay guys. People with massive chips on shoulders.

100% of your at work time should now be spent finding a new job. Long lunches for interviews and such. Talk up your current position and let it be known that you’re wanting a step up.

At our place (state institution), they are just incompetents who want to draw salary while doing as little as possible.
