I can't help being reminded of all the Zombie Apocalypse movies when I walk around City Hall or the Civic Center BART stop in San Francisco.
There are legions of slow-moving zombies who would totally eat your brains if they could, but they are so wigged out on meth and opiates that they can't move fast enough to catch anyone who walks a bit faster than they do.
It's totally analogous to those movies. And it's reality today in SF.
Map of Tenderloin, with Civic Center just south of it:
I was in SF first time in middle 1990's - and there was shit on sidewalk close to Civic center which was surprising and somewhat disturbing. Amount of homeless was absolutely staggering. Hate to imagine how things are now. Even New Orleans which is rather run-down in many places was much cleaner.
The crowbar and baseball bat can be fun, but make it to level 10 and you get a chainsaw. Level 15 gets you a flamethrower. 20, an MK52 chain gun. Now you're talking.
