He came of age in Queens, built Trump Tower, starred in “The Apprentice,” bankrupted his businesses six times, and drew cheering crowds and angry protesters to Fifth Avenue after his election. Through it all, President Trump — rich, bombastic and to many Americans the epitome of a New Yorker — was intertwined with the city he called his lifelong home.

No longer.

In late September, Mr. Trump changed his primary residence from Manhattan to Palm Beach, Fla., according to documents filed with the Palm Beach County Circuit Court. Melania Trump, the first lady, also changed her residence to Palm Beach in an identical document.

Sorry Dems, I know you've been trying to cook up some NYS shenanigans.

Florida resident means no more NY State taxes. Many other rich New Yorkers have done the same. At least Trump will not bring liberal politics with him to Florida.

Yah kinda nuts to keep your residence in New York when they soak you so hard for taxes.
3   clambo   2019 Oct 31, 9:46pm

Anyone who has been down to S. Florida sees so many New Yorkers down there it's amazing; New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts go there also.

Of course, if he is no longer a resident of New York, those assholes up in Manhattan can't ask to see his Federal 1040 tax returns anymore can they?

My father retired and was talked into moving to S. Florida; he didn't want to go. But later he said it was OK.

I helped him with his finances and taxes and showed him he saved about $1500/month in taxes to New York by being a Florida resident.

He wasn't a gazillionaire like a lot of guys running around down there.

The money is leaving states like New York and New Jersey behind; those who stay will be the ones who can't afford to go and will suck up benefits further bankrupting those states, further forcing them to raise taxes, and further stimulating people to escape to Florida.

That assumes he made money and had tax liability. But I suspect he kept his residency for other reasons such as various government handouts and special tax abatements that developers often get. Those days are done one way or another and it is for sure true Florida is a state that whose tax policy is more favorable to the wealthy. I know several people who live there 6 months plus 1 day ( part time in the winter and colder months) so as to avoid state income tax and snow

it wont keep him from being pursued by New York and other state authorities for possible criminal and civil infractions but the extradition process will slow them down. But its a head fake I think he will be looking for asylum in another country before this mess is over.

I thought Putin was going to honor him with a lavish dacha on the Black Sea for when he defects.

Unfortunately, this might as well be part of an evil Bond villain type plan to turn red states blue. That is, the evil Goldsoros coerces confiscatory taxes in the blue states he controls through bribery and pedo-extortion. In time, the blue state residents leave for low tax red states, but they bring blue state politics with them. BWA HA HA HA, excellent!!

Why?

All these claims about Trump. This one being extra hysterical. Why would he flee to another country? Please do explain...

if a man can identify as a woman and demand bathrooms be changed, why can't i identify as a state and demand taxes be paid to me?

Can't wait until NY has to hire Dog the Bounty Hunter to bring Trump back because Ron Desantis wont extradite him.

Because Trump was essentially a criminal masquerading as a developer. He is protected by the OLC no indict memo while Pres. Plus Barr wouldn't allow it anyway much too busy sucking Trump's miniature mushroom shaped we we. But the state level investigations are proceeding and IMO will result in criminal indictments including Donald. No pardon possible for state crimes from Parson Pence. You think he ran a legit biz? No fucking way. Unfortunately for him he opened himself up by running and winning. Sad

We are going to find out. But my guess: money laundering as well as bank and insurance fraud. Time will tell, I fully acknowledge its speculation. Do you think he ran legit businesses? You know, like Trump U.

I appreciate admitting it's a guess at least. Few do that.

I'm sure he was probably part of some money laundering. You understand though that no one in their right might would have their finger prints on that though? He likely had a desperate fall guy, that needed money and will have an awful reputation and any statement made will be utterly obliterated in a court room. Trump has so much hate from a vocal minority that has investigated him more than anyone running for POTUS or as sitting POTUS. There's no there, there.

I guess I'm dumbfounded by the idea that only Trump has committed some high crime. Every single one of these politicians have their hand in some illegal thing going on. If you think otherwise you're naive to how the system works.

All I see from the left and Trump haters is them being trapped in a pitch black room with a dart in their hand and no idea where the dart board is. Yet somehow thinking they'll hit the bullseye. It's simply not happening.

Laundering proceeds of organized crime in Russia and the Soviets. A lot of Red Mafia were fleeing with fugitive funds in the 1990s and early naughts needing a no questions ask recycling program. In a way, Trump's organization was a subcontractor to Deutsche Bank. In the end, Trump will flip for LE in the EU and the US and likely trade testimony for protection.

Interesting. Has Trump avoided prosecution by donating to the Clinton Foundation?

I thought every developer was a criminal? It is in their job description.

Not sure about that, but what I am sure 100% is that he was connected to NY mafia in 80's. He used the same accountants/lawyers as the mob for Christ's sake...but nothing will come out of it as many other people in NY will take a fall for the same reason if he falls.
17   Bd6r   2019 Nov 2, 1:40pm

What I wonder about is this: why the hell Trump's mafia connections (well-established) and (presumable) connections with post Soviet mob did not come up in elections? Are the Democrats that stupid? Or it was meant to be a circus, in which case this is very unsettling.

Running a Title XV asset defense won't stop Trump from realizing his ultimate fate: surrendering to the USG for protection in turning state's evidence in a case against Deutsche Bank and Russian oligarchs for organizing a multibillion dollar laundering operation.

If the trust's lawyers are forcing Donnie to run for cover now, I can't imagine what defensive routines they think they have to mount for the MAGApocalypse they see showing up sooner or later.

@patrick is he really allowed to keep going on about the Deutsche Bank note here??

@Freedumb,
APOCALYPSEFUCK is an excellent entertainment without whom Patnet would not be Patnet, even though more sensitive individuals might be triggered. I believe in my years on Patnet he has been censored only once by our Poobah

@APOCALYPSEFUCK is actually a great member of this site. He has never insulted any of the other users or the site.

lol. Can't search it anymore, but AF has to take top ranks for ignored users. I don't/won't ignore anyone unless I think they're a bot. AF is good people in a weird Patnet way.
23   steverbeaver   2019 Nov 6, 8:57pm

AF is irreplaceable and congenial. I'm pretty sure this forum is testbed for his day job as a comedian of sorts.

Let's look at it from Fight Club wisdom. "you never say 'your dildo', just 'a dildo'". See how much more pleasant the latter is?
