It is pictures from the sad time when the US put some 120,000 Japanese Americans into internment camps for the duration of World War II. To add insult to injury, the US insisted that both Brasil and Peru send Japanese citizens to be interned at these camps. It is a sad moment in our history that fills me with shame and sadness.
The US was also at war with Germany and Italy at that time. German Americans only had problems with the authorities if they were outright Nazi spies, fervent Nazi party members, or criminals. Italian-Americans, for the most part, were not bothered by the authorities. Every now and then there were random cases where an Italian would be picked up, questioned ,detained for a few weeks and then let go.
Now the week starts. For us it is preparations for Thanksgiving and a time to rest and give thanks.

Have a good day!
Be positive!
Makes some money!

Thousands of German and Italian aliens were also subject to forcible removal from areas. Depending on where they were, they were either removed to camps or allowed to stay but were forced to register and obey certain conditions:

Joe DiMaggio's father had his boat impounded, had to carry ID at all times, was released only on promise to stay away from waterfront areas and register his residence and workplace with the FBI.

But Opera Singer Ezio Pinza was interned at Ellis Island for months. Naturalized Italian-Americans were forcibly deported from US Territories of Hawaii.

The reason the Japanese were forced into camps was to protect THEM from angry Civilians; Germans and Italians could more or less blend in. It was also not physically possible to intern millions of naturalized German or Italian citizens, but it was possible to intern the much smaller Japanese Population.

I believe something like 5% of all foreign-born Japanese Households had subscribed to Japanese Imperial Aid Orgs and Newsletters, like the Showa Research Association - these were flatly fascist groups. And General DeWitt compiled years of extensive communications between Japanese aliens corresponding with Japanese Ships over radio in California and Hawaii. Some of them were only discovered after the war, like Takeo Yoshikawa, who received the code "East wind, Rain" on his shortwave and was able to destroy any and all evidence of his spying for the Axis. He was personally responsible for the near-total destruction of an Atlantic convoy that was relayed to Germany via Pacific Coast Japanese Network and received a commendation letter from Adolph Hitler.

Japanese were interred and made almost $5/day if they chose to work, free food and board and would make over $100 month. The average pay of a Private in the US Army was $50/month. The population of Japanese Americans GREW in the internment camps. The death rate inside the Internment Camps was lower than it was with the domestic civilian population.

All actors in WW2 - Britain, Germany, Japan, Canada, Italy, etc - did this to their foreign born on the enemy side.

The Theft of Japanese Property was mostly done due to pressure from the California Fruit Grower's association - the same groups that advocate today for mass immigration

The Left has worked overtime to create moral equivalence between Japanese Internment Camps with other Concentration Camps in history, and has spread a lot of propaganda about the circumstances and conditions therein, with help of the Demmedia.

Much of this goes back to the bad science of the Milgram Experiment, which was more than two dozen carefully P-hacked and poorly done and highly variable "studies" that sought to prove a narrative. I've spoken of this before - how Williams, the primary facilitator, did not stick to the script and constantly violated control protocol.

You just have to realize that was a dull, hubba hubba time.

There was war, who do you think many would have allegiance to? Japanese are very nationalistic people, back then they didn’t think other races were human too.

You are putting modern kumbaya perspective on the time where culture was different.

The Empire of the Sun were Kamikaze maniacs that would have stopped at nothing to win the war.
They were so bad, they are still to this day the only nation to have ever had an Atomic bomb dropped on them.
Not once but twice. The Japs had spies all throughout America, they coordinated with Japan to deliver the sneak attack.

You can't look at 1941 politics with 2019 Specs. We saved everyone's ass in that war. We saved the World's bacon.
If you're not happy about that, then go live in China and bitch about Xi, I hear that always goes over well.
