As part of his proposal, Bloomberg is promising to ramp up pressure on cities and municipalities to loosen zoning laws, increase funding for affordable housing and housing assistance, and help cities get homeless people off the streets and into homes, not shelters.

Housing policy experts widely agree that restrictive zoning laws are a big reason why housing supply has not kept up with demand nationally.

That’s particularly true in California.

“Most of California’s most populous cities and most affluent suburbs are just not building up housing,” Brookings Institute Fellow Jenny Schuetz told McClatchy earlier this year. “They’ve been under-building housing for about 30 years now.”

*yawn* all of these big government poofs talk “affordable housing” but do everything in their power to tax builders and developers to death so they won’t do it.

Mini Mike is no different.

Just remove zoning laws in cities. Houston does not have zoning and housing is affordable since builders do not have to pay off city hall! A good model for California which will never be implemented because limousine libruls do not want unwashed masses in their neighborhoods.

You’re telling me that you believe a billionaire with many real estate holdings is going to try to devalue his own assets by creating more affordable housing?
😂 tell me another one!

Which is the truth. Coastal Libtards like Bloomberg don't mind brown poor people if they have their "own" state subsidized neighborhoods (aka projects), but they won't put them up in their own hoods (just look at the affordable housing fights in San Francisco, the center of libtardedness).

The democrats of the 2000s are the same as the DemoKKKRats of the 1860s. They want brown and black people on their OWN plantations, not in the master's house.
