President Donald Trump was properly impeached, in essence, for carelessly running his mouth and accidently crossing a line of corruption and abuse. While I don't feel it rises to a level or removal, it was still foolish and gave some people a legitimate opportunity, which they have been waiting for all along. I didn't like it, but I recognized that it was legitimate, and I found the first article, in particular, to be a perfectly written indictment.

Turnabout is fair play, however. In this case, though, the crime is deliberate and obvious. By delaying a Senate trial for a political advantage (that is, leaving this hanging of Trump's head is a personal and political benefit) Pelosi, et al, are committing the exact same crime that Trump is accused of, which is corruptly initiating a legal procedure for their gain. However, it gets much worse, as the House does NOT have oversight or any other right to dictate how the Senate conducts its trial. Withholding the impeachment process amounts to charging someone, but never trying them for the sole purpose of humiliation or other defamation.

The defense to this is even worse, because the delay is "until the Senate demonstrates that it will put on a fair trial." In other words, the expected outcome is not the desired outcome and so until we think we are getting the outcome we desire we will delay the process. I have some very bad news for the speaker, the Senate is actually the jury in the trial. What they are doing is jury tampering pure and simple. Definitely a high crime in Federal US Code.

18 U.S. Code § 1503.Influencing or injuring officer or juror generally

I might, and I suggest others consider, sending a crime report to the FBI. Congressional members CAN be arrested and charged with crimes while they hold office.

Link to statute that requires the House to turn over the impeachment to the Senate in a specific time?

Link to crime Trump committed? Cart before the horse much? Oh wait....

Pelosi is stalling because it's a lose lose for her and the Dem's.

Then please explain why that wasn't an article of impeachment....

It was, Abuse of power. By trying to bribe Zelensky he abused his power.

Zelensky himself (the most important and probably only witness) threw that lie out. Impeachment sham is over.

Bribery IS an impeachable offense.

The two articles they threw at Trump were NOT impeachable offenses.

You'd think if they HAD an impeachable offense, they would have used it.

Did you read the transcripts?

The gig is up. Hahahahaha.

Not sure if you are stating a fact, or defending the action. In either way, that is jury tampering.

Good article (which i tend to agree with) on it:

https://www.frontpagemag.com/point/2019/12/pelosi-threatens-call-impeachment-unless-senate-daniel-greenfield/

"Possibilities.

1. Pelosi never wanted to do this. She was pushed into it by her donor base. So this is an excuse for effectively tabling the whole thing and then working on some legislation that might actually help retain control of the House. And she can blame Mitch McConnell for it.

2. The idea is to threaten Trump with the idea of the Democrats taking the Senate. And then being able to actually impeach him. The odds of this though are way out there.

3. With the polls turning against them, the Democrats are in free fall. And jumping on anything that looks good. In this case, Turley's article. They can't impeach Trump. The whole process is going nowhere. And the public has turned against them. But the donor base demands it.

So that leaves them caught in their own trap and unable to escape. This is a potential exit hatch.

Slow the whole thing down. Buy time. Look for more options.

And then there's always...

4. Pelosi is out of her mind."

Pelosi just committed the crime of jury tampering

Democrats at the highest levels of government apparently have immunity from the law. This was made abundantly clear by 2016 with all the various Clinton shenanigans.

They'll keep this in limbo as long as possible I think.

BUT, there is nothing explicit about when the Senate can hold a trial: The House already voted to impeach.

The Senate can simply hold the trial or dismiss the case whenever they like, now that a vote has been held. There's nothing in the constitution about any formal transferal of the articles, just that a vote happens.

I thought so too, I think there is something that we don't know in the process. Delaying for an improper reason, as stated, they will withhold until the Senate will conduct a fair trial, is jury tampering, because it is explicitly trying to influence the conduct of the jurors and outcome of the trial.

It is silent on the process and timing and, in fact, doesn't require the House to refer the Articles to the Senate at any particular time or even at all.

Good catch. So this was all bull shit. They're going to hold it back and not go through the embarrassment of a Senate trial? Basically tuck it between their legs and run away? That's a good look.

Or will they hand it off to the Senate and get butt fucked there? Unless they find an actual crime, they are tying the noose and are about to hang their entire party. This isn't difficult to see. Dems are in a lose lose situation and there's no way out now. They fucked up. They should have just gotten just one fucking reasonable human to run for their primary. It wasn't complicated to defeat Trump and I'd have rooted it on. As we sit here today, Trump just locked up 4 more years.

If Pelosi isn’t going to treat her impeachment of Trump seriously, why should anyone? Let her wave it back and forth and we all just ignore and go back to business.

I think most people are witnessing a different event than I am.

What I see is McConnel, Graham and Grassley all saying.
"Ya'll better not send that shit over here, we wont even allow witnesses or it come to trial we'll just vote it down."

Pelosi be like "We might not even send to be voted on, so we wont have to reveal the bad witnesses and expose our biased corruption!"

McConnel, Grassley and Graham "Well Good because we don't it exposing our Corruption either, ya'll better not send it to the Senate for a vote."

Pelosi "If you're going to act like that, then I'm Not sending it to the Senate to be voted on"

McConnel, Grassley and Graham "Not even a little Bit!"

Pelosi "Fuck NO! Not even a little Bit!"

American news feeders.

"Oh It's On! It's ON! It's on Like Donkey Kong!"

66,000,000 Democrat voters boycotting all Republican businesses will have Impeached Republican President removed from office in a week.

And what businesses are those? Chick-fil-a and hobby lobby? Most big business are run by Democrats or left leaning folks. Good luck boycotting the local mom and pop pizza place run by Republicans. That'll show 'em.

And do you think all 66M are worse off now than they were before Trump got elected? We all know the answer.

It is for this reason that the US Constitution guarantees a right to a speedy trial.

Yes, fair. Moscow Mitch already admitted he doesn't plan to be impartial so once he recuses himself this all can move forward.

And Elizabeth Warren is not only running to replace Trump, but has openly said that she will be voting to impeach! Any good lawyer would instantly remove such a juror for bias.

Mitch McConnell is one vote out of 100. The system by its design chooses the jurors, who don't have a requirement to be impartial. Unlike other types of jurors, these ones are picked by the people and don't recuse themselves, because they are obligated to participate. They know many of the facts of the case, unlike other jurors, and they know the President intimately. They vote their conscience and attempting to coerce them is jury tampering.

Exactly why it goes through both houses. The founding fathers were pretty bright. For those reasons, there aren't peremptory challenges.
