A jury has convicted two people for helping Paulo Virgen Mendoza avoid capture during a 55-hour manhunt after the death of Newman Police Cpl. Ronil Singh. ...

His brother, Conrado Virgen Mendoza, 34, of Chowchilla and Erik Quiroz Razo, 28, of Merced were found guilty of conspiring to aid and abet Paulo Mendoza avoid prosecution, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Sacramento announced in a news release Tuesday morning. The verdict was reached Monday.

Federal prosecutors said both men had entered the country illegally; Conrado Mendoza was originally from Colima, Mexico and Razo was from Michoacán, Mexico. Authorities say Paulo Mendoza also had entered the country illegally; he was originally from Colima and was living in Newman at the time of the shooting.

The same jury in federal court in Fresno acquitted Mendoza’s other relatives, Erasmo Villegas Suarez, 36, and Maria Luisa Moreno, 57, both of the Bakersfield-Lamont area.

Suarez and Moreno have been issued notices to appear in court for deportation proceedings, according to the prosecutors. Suarez faces additional federal charges of alleged fraud involving identification documents. Suarez is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 21 in that case.

Also on Monday, Paulo Mendoza’s girlfriend, Ana Leydi Cervantes Sanchez, 31, was sentenced to one year and one day in federal prison. She had pleaded guilty to conspiring to aid and abet her boyfriend avoid prosecution, conspiring to harbor an illegal alien, and harboring an illegal alien.

Unlike most people, I have lived and worked in Mexico and I'm bilingual. I've been going down there since 1979.

They do not share our values, they want what we have, they don't give a shit about us, our laws, or our society.

Deep down they believe we caused their poverty and they want pay back. This belief was ingrained in them by schooling which was run by the PRI dictatorship that lasted for over 70 years.

Deport deport deport.

End illegal immigration. For those here on visas to report their living locations and travel. If they are stopped elsewhere, they get immediately turned over to ICE. We have to report where we are staying when we visit other countries, no reason not to have the same requirements here. Make the reporting system available online so no one can claim they couldn’t make the change. If someone is too stupid or ignorant to browse the Internet, we shouldn’t be allowing them in anyway.

Immediately the positives are wages would rise and rents would fall in the areas with the most illegals. Also crime rates would drop. Even if the illegals themselves aren’t committing the crimes, US criminals frequently prey upon the ignorance and fear of illegals, causing high crime rates.

I wish our politicians had the guts to initiate deportation of all illegals, visa overstays and otherwise.

Also, require colleges/universities to update and verify residential address of those with student visas. Do occasional snap inspections and fine the school $10,000 for every discrepancy.

A federal judge Wednesday sentenced Erik Quiroz Razo, 28, to 21 months in prison for aiding the flight of the accused killer of Newman police Cpl. Ronil Singh.

A jury in September convicted Razo and another man of helping Paulo Virgen Mendoza, 33, avoid capture during a 55-hour manhunt after the shooting on Dec. 26, 2018. They are among several people with ties to Mendoza who were prosecuted in U.S. District Court in Fresno.

Razo is an undocumented immigrant from Michoacán, Mexico, who was living in Merced when the shooting happened, a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

Authorities said Razo helped Mendoza hide his truck after the shooting, drove him to various locations, and got rid of his loaded gun.

“This defendant, a convicted felon and previously deported alien, played a critical role in helping a man accused of killing a police officer to elude apprehension,” U.S. Attorney McGregor Scott said in the release. “He disposed of the murder weapon, and he urged those close to him to not tell anyone about his activities.”

The District Attorney’s Office will seek the death penalty against the man accused of fatally shooting Newman police Cpl. Ronil Singh the day after Christmas in 2018.

“After thoughtful consideration, deliberation, and much consultation with the victim’s family and their wishes, we are seeking the death penalty in this special circumstance murder case,” Chief Deputy District Attorney Jeff Mangar said in an email to The Bee.

He made the announcement in court last week during a hearing for Paulo Virgen Mendoza.

Also during the hearing, Judge Ricardo Córdova denied a motion by defense attorney Stephen Foley to put off Mendoza’s preliminary hearing, which is scheduled to begin Tuesday.

Illegals murder Americans.

Illegals murder American policemen.

Biden supports illegal immigration to please employers who want to drive down wages.

Kamala is the same, or worse.

Trump is the right choice to end the murder of Americans by illegals, and the suppression of US wages by illegals.

Employers who employ illegals should be subject to mandatory ten year prison sentences.
