Yes, this scheduling and arrangement of the first Presidential debate seems to have the Cigarette Smoking Man's (CSM's) fingerprints all over it.
I'm not sure how much tutelage Mayor Pete got from the CSM while serving in Navy Intelligence as a reserve officer.
But perhaps this is a favor returned and a nod of approval from the CSM.
One thing for sure, never go afoul of the CSM and you'll be rewarded.

The cake and walk are already happening. The party is going to implode. As much as people think I'm a Trump fanboy, they're wrong. Competition helps everyone, including Trump to be better. This isn't a good thing overall regardless of your opinion or "feelings" on Trump. This is an epic failure by the Democratic party. They'll rise from the dust with the same name, but this election cycle is going to tear it down to the ground.
