Based on what I've been seeing so far, I think national thank a rich person day has officially been created.

https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/25/politics/stimulus-senate-action-coronavirus/index.html

Looks like my family will get $0. Not that I wanted any of it and have said as much here. Just know if you receive any of this money, that other people have to make it up at some point. I don't want to hear shit about rich people anymore from lazy fucks or people too stupid to not have an emergency fund to get them through times EXACTLY like this.

I sort of a agree and sort of dont. People are going to be hurting through no fault of their own. Like you, we won’t be receiving anything nor do we need it, but I don’t see any better way of handling this(except fast tracking and temporarily expanding UE benefits).

But yes, some people are WAY to fixated on what other people do. Instead of bitching about someone else having too much of the pie, they ought to concentrate on making the pie bigger.

My point exactly. It is necessary, so before someone gets butt hurt because they might get some $$$ from this, it needed to happen and I get it. I just don't want to hear complaints about rich people and big corporations being bad anymore. That is who will have to pay this at some point. Almost half of America doesn't pay a dime in federal taxes, but will take a personal bailout check no questions asked.

What got me was Liberals trying to cut out choice steaks for their pet special interest groups and peoples.
When we all know these programs have so much fraud and corruption and money going to illegals and groups that shouldn't get it.
They wanted to set them up for a double dip. They would have gotten what we got anyway, because there's no will to verify and check on eligibility. Then on top of that get a special wetback check cut to them.

My wife told me about a tax man her sisters and everyone they know in the Latin community that gets them thousands and thousands of dollars.
Where our taxman only gets us what we've got coming, it's not as impressive.

I told her because I'm white, the IRS will come down on us with a vengeance and audit and fine the crap out of us. Latino 1st gen filers are expected to get a $8,000-$12,000 check, when they didn't work a day all year. American gringo tax payers are expected to pay for it.

And with all that they probably have nothing to show for it, probably no car, no house, not two cents to run together, always strapped because their spending habits are so stupid. They'll spend $2,000 on a set of rims to put on a $1,000 jalopy.

I know for a fact that there are tax preparers who will knowingly prepare false returns. Really stupid stuff too like itemizing stuff that can’t be itemized. A friend had this happen and of course the IRS caught up to him and he owed them thousands. Hispanic and Hispanic surname btw.

Under the plan as it was being negotiated, individuals who earn $75,000 in adjusted gross income or less would get direct payments of $1,200 each, with married couples earning up to $150,000 receiving $2,400 -- and an additional $500 per each child. The payment would scale down by income, phasing out entirely at $99,000 for singles and $198,000 for couples without children.

So it seems to be based on a person's 2019 tax return. Apparently this includes EIC folks who paid a negative tax in the first place.

So a man who earns $100k/year with a stay at home wife and one kid would get $2900 whether he lost his job or not?
8   RWSGFY   2020 Mar 25, 2:38pm

It's not final yet. There is still hope for FREE SHIT!!!!
9   mell   2020 Mar 25, 3:03pm

These arbitrary boundaries are plain stupid - everyone should get the same amount. It doesn't matter to a billionaire if they get an additional $1200, but it matters for a single earner or couple paying for the whole family and more even if single/combined income is over 100k/200k.

Yep. $75K in SF is poverty. $75 in KY is a FUCKING KING.

My wife thinks we will get an extra $500, because she says I qualify as both a spouse and a child.

If his W2 said $100k wages, he'll get nothing. However, if that person earned $100k but cheated the IRS and said he only made $25k, he'll get the cash. Our government at its finest!

So, technically your wife is a pedophile. And as such, a Democrat.

Kinky. I'll have to tell her that. Maybe she'll claim disability, too.
