The Cruise Ship Industry must DIE!

Who in the hell is running things over there? A Cruise Ship in Rome? Are you kidding ME!?

https://www.breitbart.com/news/fears-on-quarantined-cruiser-docked-in-rome-after-virus-case/

Civitavecchia (Italy) (AFP) – A cruise ship carrying hundreds of quarantined international holidaymakers docked in virus-hit Italy Wednesday, after a woman who tested positive disembarked in Greece, sparking fears among those on board.

“We’re all very, very, very concerned,” Dutch passenger Hans Rijkelijkhuizen told AFP from aboard the Costa Victoria.

The vessel has been looking for a safe port after evacuating an Argentine woman who fell ill with respiratory problems.

The 726 passengers were placed in lockdown in their cabins on Monday after the woman, 63, was taken off the ship in Crete.

“There are lots of people on board with a temperature,” said Rijkelijkhuizen, 78, who was on the cruise with his 74-year old wife.

Rijkelijkhuizen, who had a slight fever and a cough, said many, including he and his wife, had been given paracetamol by the ship doctor.

“Do we have the virus? We don’t know,” he said, standing on the tiny balcony of his cabin in a red wind jacket.

There's not enough port/dock space in the world to have these all docked at the same time and still have all the other container ships docked that are being taken off line. Thank god it's not hurricane season or this would have been substantially worse. If they have passengers on board, they eventually need to park the damn thing somewhere or it turns into 1k deaths instead of 20.

Cruises are fine vacations as well. I understand it's not everyone's cup of tea, so I'm not going to argue against anyone that doesn't like them, I get it. Just understand that the food and booze industry in the states makes mucho $$$$ off supplying those ships in American ports where most originate from.

Shooting numbers out my ass, but wouldn't be surprised to find out these cruise port cities are reliant on up to 5% of their local GDP on cruises. The amount of cabs, restaurants, hotels, airlines, landing fees, fuel fees, dock fees, etc. that all benefit from people cruising is huge. Places like Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Port Canaveral, Galveston, NOLA, etc. would all take a hit. And are taking a hit as we speak.

And again, this is all money that poof, is gone. Cruise lines and their suppliers can't just do more. Wishing them to die would be a massive hit to a lot of places.

I don’t think we should bail out any cruise lines with ships that are flagged at foreign ports. Let their chosen flag governments bail them out! You wanted Panama as your country? Look to Panama for bail outs! Or Liberia or whatever.

Lol. I get it. As a younger person that generally enjoys cruises, I do dislike the older demographic. Good people, just changes the overall vibe on non-holiday itineraries. The one's I've done during spring break are much more fun without the old people. Sorry old people.

And all things considered, given the ease of transfer of virus' and disease, cruising really is the last place they should be.

Don't feel alone CS industry. RepCons will continue to die from C-19.

Shoving C-19 into the faces of RepCons & ramming it down their throats into their lungs is pure enjoyment.
