why does this picture look like a frame from out of a zombie movie?

Members of Reclaiming Our Homes stand guard on the first day of a home takeover in LA.

the interesting thing to me (and this is the fundamental point of my critique of cultural and civilizational differences between groups that hearers/readers mistake as a focus on ethnicity as such) is that:

the picture where they're planting corn in the backyard -- see, this is like Trump supporters wearing cowboy hats, it's an aspirational expression of a cultural malaise that has no functional utility in the world of production any longer, rather, just a symbolic expression of an ideological sentiment -- isn't that Mayan-language graffitti -- or some other deep south Mexican aboriginal language -- sprayed on the wall? They have absolutely no skills, nor do they want any, other than those their ancestors had in 800 AD. Lovingly planting the sacred sustenance in the "womb" of the Earth-Mother. Yet they want to come here, cross illegally (or legally, but I don't recognize the authority of the govt to admit them legally to the detriment of our existing middle and working classes) and pretend that they are in some way "taxpayers" (they are wards and welfare beneficiaries, commonly diabetic (due to huge sugar, refined flour and reconstituted or fatty "meats" (organ-meats too), and saturated fat intakes, which also is acculturated to them), and have all these problems that they want the ACTUAL taxpayers (those who have skills and earn a taxable income as a result) to pay for. And then call us "racists" or "inhumane" if we complain about paying for the problem which their inability to change and question their dysfunctional, archaic values is perpetuating.

all that'll happen, if they're allowed to remain, is that these buildings will sink into deteriorating hovels in neighborhoods that will explode into ecologies of gangsta-ism, prostitution, street drug dealing, shootings, etc. Nothing will change, and once again, they will have succeeded in pushing THEIR problem onto the society that they invaded.

+++++++++++++

Could it be counter-argued that these people are just victims of the global neo-liberal capitalist system, and therefore that something should be done to ameliorate their situation? Why, yes, it could, and such an argument would be correct -- to a point. But there are two assumptive problems underlying that: (1) most of them don't want to change and produce again (as their ancestors once did), they want a handout within the current broken system, and lack the multi-generational family and work and learning skills needed to become productive again; and (2) why should the victims of the global neo-liberal capitalist system who are native to a hegemonic nation-state within that system (I speak of our working and middle classes) be the ones who are forced to pay helping them (instead of the rich and the corporations and bureaucrats)? (beyond a mere taxing and disempowering of these ruling classes, there would have to be an eventual breakup of financial capital and corporations, so that assets could be released to these people once they have the skills to manage the means of production again.

So, their action won't solve any problem, because THESE PEOPLE (as they are) and the GLOBALIST NEO-LIBERAL CAPITALIST SYSTEM are the problem.

In that case, you create a reservation. That is, cordon off a portion of Mexico where they will be allowed to live like their ancestors did in 800 AD. Just like North Sentinel Island off of India's coast, or several "uncontacted" tribes in South America. No outsiders allowed in, and if you leave, no benefits other than education of children.

Well, quite a lot of Mexico is like that right now.

So cordon all of it, a.k.a. BUILD THE WALL.
