Pressure Flip: States to Decide Reopening

By MisdemeanorRebel follow MisdemeanorRebel   2020 Apr 14, 6:16pm 1,095 views  18 comments           share

It's time for the State Governments to decide when they will reopen for business, Trump announced.

Awesome Federalist Move and complete Pressure Flip on CA, MA, NY, IL, etc.

The Dems hoped Trump would demand a reopening, so they could blame him for every single case and death following the reopen, while Dems in Cali, New York, New Jersey, etc. while enjoying the relief of reopening.

The DemMedia's hot take is that Trump never had the power to shut the economy down, which is untrue - Congress gave the President far more sweeping powers than he's used, under Cold War Era legislation designed for WW3 NBC Scenarios
(DemMedia article from last year whinging that the Presidency - not under their control - allows for sweeping Powers in times of Emergency)

Waaah! Trump can't order us to reopen...

* brain explosions * Trump has finally reached the 1.462,792 dimension of chess. The highest possible level. Democrats are now telling him he does not have the power they insisted he had only weeks ago while taking total responsibility for the collapse of the US economy.

He's a GENIUS!

Hundreds of millions dead and no one to blame but libby fucks and RINO governors!

PERFECT!

Dresden is in flames! proving Churchill is a libby monster!

HAHAHAHAHA!

You do have to admit that it’s curious timing, Gov Gruesome hinting at worst case scenarios without actually saying it(saying that concerts, sports events, etc won’t take place in 2020 without a vaccine). It’s like he said just enough to make people hysterics again without really saying anything.

Democrats really are the worst.

I think he’s just leaving rights at state level. It’s prudent and smart since every state is different.
4   steverbeaver   2020 Apr 14, 9:35pm

WTF Democrats love state's rights now?
5   Ceffer   2020 Apr 14, 10:15pm

What a great way to fuck California for not voting for him. Leave it to the tender mercies of Newsom et. alia.

Actually, this is freaking brilliant on Trump's part, AGAIN. To be honest, Trump doesn't always look brilliant, but sometimes, wow.

Now the states have to take the blame for any new deaths and the mass unemployment. And all he did was obviously bait them by saying he had the authority to open up businesses again. The media/Democrats are so stupidly blinded by their insane levels of hate that they can't help themselves from opposing anything Trump says, so they demanded that the states alone have the power (and therefore the responsibility for the results!).

It's like Trump said that the states don't have the power to stab themselves in the face, so what do they do prove him wrong? Lol.

And Newsome has already taken a firm waffling stance by list six nearly impossible to achieve things before reopening (he will waffle back later):

Correct. Like it literally threw Dodgers fans into a tizzy, but the asshole didn’t really say no baseball. I hope they remember this next election. Maybe this is the wake up call that latinos in CA need(the cucked white leftists in CA are programmed Dembots and beyond hope or redemption).

CA is planning that, "Before you leave your house, you'll likely be required to put on a mask, and before you enter certain businesses or facilities, you might be required to have your temperature taken to ensure you're not running a fever."
SO that clerk wearing latex gloves, holding a thermometer and a tube of KY Jell . . .

Wanna know when the states -- especially CA, MA, NY, IL -- are going to reopen? When they run out of money...which they are already at that point or close.

Trump just removed their lame excuse to scapegoat him for doing so.

Yup. Newsom was already floating May 15th but may push that up if it’s up to him. He knows he can’t be defeated in an election here because the DemFucks have perfected ballot harvesting. So he will just do what he wants to do.

We already know Trump doesn't take responsibility.

Democrats' last talking point not 24 hours ago was that the President couldn't order Governors to do jack shit.

Now they're claiming he's dodging his responsibility.
12   Shaman   2020 Apr 15, 11:09am

The thing is, Trump does have the power to order the states to reopen. He’s declared a national emergency, he could declare martial law which suspends the Constitution, and as commander in Chief he could make those decisions no problem!

But this way is better for him. I don’t like being under a LibbyFuck Governor though. I suppose civil disobedience is always an option. Misdemeanors ain’t shit in California these days. Not even worth a cop’s time to prosecute.
Knew a guy who wrecked his truck while DUI, ran away and got charged with abandoning a crash. That charge was dropped because it was a misdemeanor, and he got away Scott free!

He can’t. The natives are already restless. Try and extend to say June and watch what happens.
14   rdm   2020 Apr 15, 11:39am

The fact is Trump asserted a power he didn't have but believed he had, he then realized (was told) he didn't have authority to "reopen the country" and tried to make the best of an incredibly ignorant statement. As to reopening of the country he posited "well, I have the ultimate authority." And then after getting that he had no such authority "decided" he would "allow" the Governor's to do it. What a clown. Doesn't know the law doesn't know the constitution. Still believe he's a stable genius? Excuse me, a very stable genius? Of course you do.

In reality governors can't, for the most part, order private business to reopen either. The assumption is business will reopen with a green light and stay home orders are lifted.

You've got the script flipped. It's likely not legal that many businesses were forced to shut down. Supreme courts across the land just got a whole hell of a lot busier.

It is well established case law that businesses can be restricted from operating. The classic business license and the state's granting/denying them is every day proven implementation of that case law

For a virus? Haven't heard that case law. I get if people get razor blades in their burger or pizza at a restaurant they can and should be shut down. Haven't heard of it being legally applicable to a virus though. That technically means our government can shut down entire industries because of influenza at any time, right? That's likely not legal. That's my point.

The Gov of California could not even shut down the bath houses back when AIDS first came out and was traced to those bath houses.

It was Trump and the American people who got played. Fauxci and BIrx fear mongering with cooked up and extremely flawed models cowed the president and with the help of mainstream leftist media also cowed the populace into accepting first two weeks, then over a month, and now who know how much longer lockdown nation will be declared. And scientifically now we can’t prove anything, they will claim that extreme social distancing worked because millions did not die. But look at Sweden, no closures, no massive death toll. Wake up everyone Fauci and the media played us, killed the economy and are responsible for tens of millions of unemployed Americans. These charlatans and traitors should join the ranks of the millions of unemployed they are responsible for!
