How come the Dems are real quiet about $15 an hour min wage, at this time of all times?

Two things come to mind,
Number one the bulk of any open businesses right now are big Democrat donors. They are making biggest profits in the company history.

Number two it's not Small Businesses. Small businesses are the most affected and shut down though all of this.

But it wont stop them from pushing more Immigrant labor, and pushing for benefits for illegal aliens.

And for continued off shoring of manufacturing to slave labor China.

Zero dollars is not a living wage, why don't they protest that?

They'll just automate and reduce staff. Even though it's expensive to do so and has its inefficiencies, that's exactly what will happen. I'm sure it's not that difficult to get a 10 person staff at McD's down to 6 (I don't even know how many people work a shift there). They would raise prices as well, just not as high as that meme.

If 6 people go to $15/hr and 4 go to $0, what's the net gain? It's a loss for society as we all have to pay 4 people's welfare. It literally negates what is being paid to the remaining 6 employees and likely costs society more.

Minimum wage is a pure vote buying scheme on the backs of taxpayers who contribute, most of whom will be forced to pay this new wage, lay people off and then pay more taxes to cover the people they laid off. The dems/left have made sure there's not enough of us anymore, so it's becoming harder to vote the dip shits out.

Conservative/right/libertarian need to get a better ground game going on campus'. Along with the brainwashing going on in higher ed, vote buying through mimimim wage also certifies 80-90% of college aged to vote left/dem. Just getting a 10% swing probably makes government blood red.

Too many young people don't understand finances and just look at the pay stub. FICA is the only thing 9 out of 10 younger people pay even though they see the federal withholdings. They don't realize they get it all back when they file taxes. They need to be educated that they don't contribute besides labor (if they work) for someone that is going to have to pay $15/hr just because government wants to buy you.

We need to get more conservative people prior to 30-40 years old. Trump was a fluke. Don't expect it again at this point, especially with cheating basically being legalized at this point.

I’m for it! Raising minimum wage will push up all wages higher, triggering the inflation surge that will hurt the banks and help debt-holders, people with mortgages, and people with assets. In the late 70s and early 80s, massive inflation spiked to 400%, and people who were ready bought many houses and became wealthy. If that happens again, it will also cut the relative “size” of the USA national debt, resetting the clock of fiscal doom and wiping out the asshole billionaires and foreign nations that hold that debt.
Actually, I believe this is the plan. It sort of has to be the plan. There’s no other exit strategy from this debt hole the country has created for itself. I believe the recent years of mad spending and especially the wild spending of the pandemic era are precursors for this event.

This would be the best case scenario. I’m pushing for it! Massive inflation offers a leg up for debtors, and riches for property owners. Wages would lag the trend, but a doubling of the federal minimum wage would quickly cause them to rise.

Because you don’t think it’s true or because you don’t want it to be true?
The fact is that if you put the pay scale floor at $15, but expect skilled labor to work for that or slightly more than that, you’ll lose all your manpower to the business who ups their pay the same amount. In California the minimum wage is already $13/hour, and believe me the wages for other work like grocery stores or other retail had to rise to outcompete the low wage jobs.
All this contributes to inflation tremendously!
Which can be good news if you know what’s going on and have some money to invest.
Bad news for pensioners.
Bad news for the wealthy.

There are a slew of small businesses in my little touristy area that are hanging by a thread after a year of pin-balling up and down the tiers of Governor Awesome’s Lock Down Lunacy. This will absolutely be the last nail in their coffin.
Who the hell knows, maybe that is the point.

Nope. I expect a minimum wage increase to NOT cause people making more to get a raise. Expically with unemployment being what it as and unlimited immigration now.

Correct. What will happen if a $15 min wage comes in in a area where $8 is the staring wage is that employees will lay off the unskilled and replace them with better qualified people. If they have to pay more, might as well get more. Also, with the anti-labor Dems in power, you can make your employees "gig" workers (bribes by Uber/Lyft/Amazon suppress worker's rights), hire illegals (enforcement will be "racism"), or for your more skilled fellows, there is HxB or offshoring (bribes by Apple, Microsoft, Buffet).

If raising the minimum wage could end inequality and poverty , why stop at $15? Why not $50? Why should the person answering calls at Verizon customer service make any less or any more than the Diversity Officer at Leftist Wacko Community College?

"From each according to their need. To each according to their ability."

This philosophy completely ignores the human need for selfish incentive. Why should anyone work up to their ability if they know the government is going to confiscate their production and give it to the "needy".

Socialism ends up with a few powerful people living richly while a majority suffer in equal squalor.

I should be able to pay some kid 5 bucks an hour to watch my dog. I shouldn't need to file a w2 and have workmen comp insurance to do so.

I am pro people and supported Trump in his fight with globalists.
But what is your fascination with people "Not getting raise".

The elite have destroyed working population and poor even after both husband/wife 10 hours and weekends can't have good life..
Please be considerate.

Did you see what happened in Long Beach when arbitrary raise was voted in by the city council?
