He has decided to move operations out of California to Texas or Nevada. May or may not leave production facility in Fremont, depending on fuck uppedness of local Politburo. Economic kamaikazes actually praise Alameda Health Officer's economy strangling moves.

When I was younger, I had a friend accepted to Stanford Med who was curious about psychiatry. We went to the psychiatric wards at UCLA, and he took me into a ward where the crazy people were wandering around. He asked the doctor there for a tour. The doctor said "Help yourself", never even made eye contact with us, grabbed a flamboyant neck scarf, coat and fedora and left us with the whackos.

There is nothing more disorienting than being surrounded by true crazies. It actually causes almost immediate disequilibrium and disorientation, because every crazy person is like a disruptive force who defies logic and reason. There is no way to describe them except to imitate exactly what they do, because there is no synoptic threads to their behaviors.
You just want to do what that doctor did, get away from them to achieve some kind of true north again, if only briefly.

That's the way I feel in California now. It has become increasingly an open air asylum, and it's hard to understand how all this happened and continues to get worse. It disrupts any sense of balance or reason.

Ceffer has a good point.
Where I am now I’m surrounded by so many people who believe nonsense that I am almost afraid to have a conversation about anything.
However, it’s interesting that most do not like the homeless invasion of Santa Cruz.
What was nice about Florida was I didn’t feel hated for my sex, race, or sexual orientation, which I do in California.
On the psychiatrist subject, other doctors don’t really respect them so much, maybe because they cannot understand why you’d go through the whole process of medical school to be in a lower paid specialty and actually need to keep patients or lose income.
My father was a psychiatrist of the old school, he talked to people and over time they mellow out usually, he didn’t write a lot of Rx for medication.
I once told him it sounds like quite the racket and he didn’t argue.

Elon opens Plant, violating Alameda rules

Tesla is restarting production today against Alameda County rules. I will be on the line with everyone else. If anyone is arrested, I ask that it only be me.

One the interesting parts is where he talks about life priorities. He's been "collecting" properties in his neighborhood and it's come to the point where he has to decide if he's going to build his dream home. But (as anyone who's even tried to do a kitchen remodel can attest), that takes a lot ot time and energy. So he's divesting himself of these properties, so he can work on SpaceX.... GOING! TO! MARS!

I’m sure Elon is looking forward to a court battle with the state and county. He’s got plenty of money and lawyers. He’s got the Constitution on his side. They’ve got nothing but fear and he isn’t afraid.
Fuck the slavers!!

We don't talk politics at work, choose our friends carefully and take up hobbies these "wise idiots" usually don't: shooting, car racing, off-roading, flying, etc. Create our own bubble of sorts.

Unions killed the GM plant, though nobody would ever say so. Lots of jobs were lost locally and factory was empty until Tesla came along. I was in town when all that happened.

I don't know who they think is supposed to provide the jobs. The comments display California moronic attitudes and entitled hostilities in general. Yeah, who would want to keep their company around here? I took an employment course many years ago, and the general theme was that employing people in California had so many catch 22s and regulations favoring the employees, plus the general atmosphere of unchecked litigiousness, that it was a nightmare to employ people in this state. You just could not win.

The Ghosts of the Pacific Ocean blow raving madness into this state. i have to resort to superstition to explain it all.

If we took all the people in Texas, and moved them to California, and took all the people in California, and moved them to Texas, do you think that would clear up the problem, or would we just now have two states infected with LibbyFuck self destructive zombie herds?

Additionally, those production plants are located in what is now quite expensive area to live. Not quite Palo Alto, but I bet you'd have a hard time buying a shack within 1/2 hour commuting distance that was priced under $700k. You're not going to be able to afford that on a "factory job" salary of any sort. I believe Musk's original thinking was having a completely automated factory and not having to employ assembly-line workers at all. Now it sounds like just the opposite: The design of his cars is such that automation is more difficult than with many commodity cars.

Tha'ts smart, he can do that other billionaire stuff later. Technology, including perhaps construction technology and materials will be better then anyway. Say when he's 65. He 48 now. Maybe in the meantime, find someone to hire to do it, with less investment of his own time.

Fremont went from being largely blue collar/ white collar to tech Asian Casbah. Same thing is rapidly evolving in Tri-Valley, along with the Section 8 paratroopers and opportunistic ghetto transplants (thank you enlightened State of California). San Francisco has also even exported some of their homeless to their water district properties. I'm wondering if some of these insta ghetto types will evaporate as California starts tallying their Covid deficits.

Still, jobz iz jobz. It is unfathomable to me that anybody would be daft enough to chase them away.

I thought texas was nearly a blue state now? No doubt, due to CA infection.
