Now wait a minute. Are you saying that Oprah is a fat reactionary moron?

Interesting. Waiting for that to hit.

Whenever you see a guy with a shotgun, run up to him and grab it; it seems to work in the movies at least.
5   marcus   2020 May 21, 10:16am

Very objective. No bias there. Lol !

That's how I can tell you're correct, becasue you don't need to post some super emotional and highly biased self righteous rant to make your case.

By the way, I haven't heard anyone arguing that trying to take the guys shotgun was smart. But I also haven't heard anyone (until the beginning of that rant) suggest that doing an armed citizens arrest of a guy for being in your neighborhood - or for walking on to a construction site was justified.

What gets me is almost every single damn time media shows a photo of a man from when he was in HS guy turns out to be a thug. This story took months to come out and that would have been plenty of time for media to find out this guy was a thug and not real story. It's almost like media puts these criminals on pedestals knowing they are going to be torn down on purpose, at least do a little digging first.

IT's easy. All black males teens are thugs. Everyone knows that.

That's not how most people think. I'm not going to look up the demographics of the neighborhood, but if it's predominately white and a black guy walks into a home under construction, without a vehicle or tools or anything, how is that not suspicious? Or any random person for that matter? White trash tweeker's are awful people too.

If the video is to be believed, they also mentioned a rash of break in's to homes and cars in the area. So the neighbors were concerned. Anyone that says it wasn't suspicious is being a bit dishonest at minimum if an out of place person walks into a vacant property, under construction that might have a bunch of expensive tools laying around.

And I'll repeat, the dude didn't deserve to die for trespassing or the potential for there to have been petty theft. But he also didn't have to attack the people confronting him. The guy made a bunch of shitty decisions. That's how most people die early to be honest. At some point you can't just point the finger at other factors. Maybe just adult better.

Not all of them. It is racist for you to dump a large group of people into one box.
10   MisdemeanorRebel   2020 May 21, 10:59am

Aside from:

Bringing a concealed gun to a HS Basketball game and fleeing from cops...
Having a suspended license, but still defying the cops to drive the vehicle away after he was told he couldn't...
Stealing a TV from Walmart...
Trespassing (perhaps repeatedly) in the same neighborhood and charging the citizens holding him for the police...

He dindu nuttin wrong.

For some reason I choose to focus on the fact that a kid was shot dead and that blockading the road in a frightening display of potential violence (gun drawn) was a terrible stupid move that ultimately was a causal (not the sole cause) of the kid dying that day.

Where as you want to argue what, that he deserved it ? That he was a bad apple and was actually the sole cause of what happened that day ?

Either of us can point to a single factor that would have led to a different outcome. But the kids decision to rush the guy was made in a second or two at the most, and easily could have been based primarily on in the moment fear.

Where as the decision of the two guys to have guns drawn on the runner ( for what justification ?) involved much more planning and forethought.

This "kid" was 25.

My mistake. So much focus by the right wingers on things he did as a teen or younger. But also, to me 25 is kind of "a kid," relatively speaking.

Where? Where was a child killed?

Dude was an adult who thought he could charge a shotgun armed redneck without getting shot. Why are you defending this stupid thug?

He engaged in criminal activity as a child and an adult. His criminal behavior continued into adulthood.

He charged AT the people carrying shotguns. After a few hooks on the face of McMichaels during the struggle for McMichael's shotgun, Arbery got blasted.

Justified self-defense without a doubt. And citizens arrests are legal in Georgia.

That's it - nothing more to discuss.

He was 19 when he brought a .380 Auto to a HS Basketball game and then ran from cops when they spotted it in his waistband. 19 is over the voting, driving, and military service age; an adult.

Consistently.

He charged and threatened a cop in the video.

Trayvon Martin’s killer got off scot free.
I expect these killers to walk as well.
Should be good for at least a hundred Marcus rants. Man was he butthurt about Trayvon the burglar hood rat!

I couldn't take that video past the part where the third officer showed up. What not even 5 minutes in.
The guy showed less than 20 seconds of footage in that amount of time, and narrated the other 4:40 minutes.
Show the damn video then comment on it.

I thought i heard the police dept asked the mcmichaels to act as neighborhood watch, with the Arbery history of shady behavior as the reason. Regardless, the neighbors had been scared and aware of Arbery for some time.

This Arbery guy consistently put himself into confrontational, potentially violent situations via his criminal behavior. Then, he consistently handled these situations as poorly as possible. He has no one to blame but himself

A thug is a bully who tries to strong-arm they way through life. They often carry and brandish deadly weapons. They have no respect for authority. They usually have a juvenile record and quickly start an adult rap sheet; jail for sure, probably prison before thirty. They steal, rob, burgle, and victimize. They rationalize that their prey shouldn't be so vulnerable and deserve to lose. They're animals who society needs protection from. They usually end up as long term inmates or dead.

Ahmaud Arbery was a thug. This has nothing to do with race except from the point of view of racists.

Correct. We should not allow this type of racist tripe to be foisted upon us. There is a terrible racist on this thread. Let it be known who that racist is.

I had graduated college, purchased my first home/investment property (2-flat) by 22, had a good salaried job and was married by 25. Is that what kids do?

Never arrested. Had two very minor speeding infractions and 2 times caught drinking beer by cops and ticketed underage at campgrounds, so no driving, doing it safe. So I wasn't perfect by any stretch, but just some minor ticket based shit. I haven't had an interaction with authorities since I was 19. You burn that shit out of your system by 25, heck usually 21 because you're an adult and consequences are different. For fucks sake I was in a band until 27 years old playing every weekend practically and you know drinks were involved. It's not difficult to be safe and not get busted.
27   MisdemeanorRebel   2020 May 22, 7:31am

25 year olds are definitely not "Kind of a kid". Never in Human History, at least in the West and I suspect in the world, is a 25-year old considered not a full adult, subject to all adult expectations and requirements.
28   ignoreme   2020 May 22, 7:33am

I know nothing about this story, don’t care, but my only question is, why the jogging angle?

If the story had come out, black guy acting suspicious but not doing anything actually wrong gets shot by red necks I would have been like: “okay, sounds like a tragedy, white people are so racist, hope the killers go to jail for a long time”

But the jogging lie completely turned me on this. America, even in the Deep South, does not have a father son racist duo so racist that would kill a black guy for jogging through their neighborhood while a third neighbor filmed it.

It was a completely made up lie designed to manipulate people. If you have the truth on your side, why do you need to manipulate?

They seek to illuminate the "Deeper Truth", which somehow seldom gets caught on film. So they have to help History advance.

The Middle East is famous for this:
Egyptian officials arrest propagandists filming children covered in Ketchup in front of a construction site with debris, filmmakers claimed in video it was Syrian kids wounded in that country.

So they are charging the guy who saw the commotion and filmed it?

Fuck justice when the mob is angry. The lying media are gonna get innocent men killed or imprisoned.

This is disgusting behavior from the mouth frothing left

Ive never much dealt w the legal system. It is my understanding that prosecutors don't bring charges without a high likelihood of winning.

I get it, the guy carrying the shotgun should explain himself to a jury and possibly be convicted of a lessor crime.

Charging this man who recorded the incident w no involvement w murder is gross.

Leftists have gone insane, and people are potentially losing their lives.

This case is totally political. They're bringing the charges because of the left. If the homicide was justified (and the video clearly shows it is), then he can't be found guilty, since no felony murder was committed.

This whole fucking thing is a waste of time. If people don't like the laws, fucking change them. Run for a position, get voted in and change them. Otherwise shut the fuck up and explain to me what fucking law was violated in this case. Everyone involved will get off and there will be all sort of faux outrage over some dip shit that had to enter someone else's property.

If I'm at a bar and get into a conflict with a former MMA champion, and I throw the first punch and he proceeds to break my face, I deserve it. Plain and simple. It's called fucking accountability. So sick of ass holes that don't understand this.
